These awards for Kiehl and Pestell were very fair. I felt Pestell played like a 1st teamer this year, but she was penalized by playing on an 8th place team. When you finish 8th, you're just very unlikely to put 2 players on the conference 1st team. And many good reasons for that -- other good players in the league on teams with more success. Winning still counts for something and it should.
No players on All Rookie team. I cant ever remember this occurring, though Im not admonishing the league for this omission -- we had nobody in contention.
Next year we return one 2nd team player and thats it. Nobody else the league recognized including nobody from the frosh class that displayed budding promise in year one. Im afraid 2018 is going to be a monumental struggle. We were an 8th place team even with the Offensive Player of the Year. Take Kiehl away and our weaknesses are further exposed and more difficult to hide. We'll be the thinnest and least talented in the modern era of UD WSOC (1995+).
