Maybe Oliver is not cut out to be a starter--some guys have different energy coming off the bench.
There were many that said eventually Kavanaugh would have loss minutes to the Scott and Robinson tandem. Maybe Oliver is going to eventually lose minutes to Pierre and Derenbecker. Only time and Archie tell.

Matt D is not good. Not good at all....At this point, I pray for Binnie-like production. Losing Kav hurt us today....from what I saw, we had limited success in the paint. We needed his big goofy ass in there today.

Had a chance to win this game and just didn't seem to have the mental toughness down the stretch. When there were about 3 minutes remaining Booker hit a 3 pointer that was a dagger. Oliver closed out on him but was too late getting there. Later, at about the 1 minute mark, Booker hits another 3!
Did anyone else notice that it seemed like the Flyers were playing with no sense of urgency as the clock was winding down? They cut the lead to 2 once and to 4 a couple of times and, the next trip down, they would pass the ball around too much. As a result, there was a steal or two which led to a Colorado layup at the other end.
I hope the young Flyers learned something from this game and, at least, come back with a 2-1 record from the tournament.

Arch will have plenty to say to the team no doubt
Didn't get to see much due to goofy ESPN3, but it sounded like a lot of poor shot selections.
We either come out of this shell-shocked or we play better ball. Hopefully it's the latter.
We have a full weekend to learn and prove something. We obviously played like we have not been there before, and we haven't.

Granted I was watching on a 2" x 3" screen but I thought we looked better on both ends in the first half when KD was out. I think it is going to take some getting used to for the new guys in playing with kd.

AGreed. Only guy looking confident from outside is Vee.
Benson also shot alot at 15 feet or more. So it's either Derenbecker (not looking good yet, got pocket picked too easily) , Pierre, or who?
Devin can do it, just not in rhythm so far. I think i agree Tommy gola, move guys around some to find our best shooters.

shot selection so -so. There were several good shots that didn't fall.
We lost this on turnovers, freshmen inexperience, not guarding perimeter last 7 minutes of game, and some poor decision making by KD and others.
NOt an awful game. There is def some good to take from this. However toughness and mistake making need to improve

think most of those were Oliver and Sanford. Inside the arc, what was that percent?

Also our first game away from the Arena. I expect better the next game because that is what it's all going to come down to---continuous improvement.
We only lost two things--a game and an undefeated season.
Next!

He grabbed twelve rebounds, or one-third of Dayton's total rebounds. He's a natural on the boards; gotta give him that...

Following up on what FlyerGuyer said:
We have 4 guys that are 6' 9". They played 75 minutes and had 13 rebounds. You do NOT want to see the stats for the big guys if I remove Josh, very putrid on the boards.
Devin Oliver played 28 minutes and had 12 rebounds.
He may not shoot well, but the kid hustles and has a knack for getting the ball. There is more to the game than just shooting. I agree he needs to shoot better, but give him some credit.
Yes, D-MO was 1-8. The best of ANY starter was 4-12, only 33%. This wasn't just D-MO that was cold, basically the entire team, other than Khari and Alex (4-5 combined) was frozen. Jalen was 1-6. Dyshawn was 1-5, Vee 1-6 from deep. I don't hear anyone getting mad at their shooting.
My point isn't to on other guys. My point is it seems the only people getting negative comments are D-MO and Matt. Let's give them a break. D-MO is a baller. Doesn't often shoot straight, but everything else he does is a big positive for the team. Overall (if you include rebounding, hustle, defense, and not just look at shooting), D-MO seemed to have a better game than most of his teammates.

Solid post CraSch. I say several of these outside shots go in at Dayton, thus bringing the score much closer.
Back to lessons from 7 or 8 years ago. Gotta learn to win AWAY, which the young guys have NO EXPERIENCE with and need to learn.
Vee and Dyshawn couldn't hit from deep, and Jalen bonked several inside.
The effort was there for 30 minutes, these guys are young. And DMO is a baller.

today against Boston College would be a solid sign if we can shoot 45% from the field, and guys like:
Devin Oliver and Jalen can bring us 8 points or so each. Second time playing at this location, so rims and location can't be an excuse.
Work on your shot pregame, get a feel for the court. And Play Ball!
