Statisticly speaking

The Flyers are number 2 in the country in points per game, number 1 in field goal percentage and number 1 in assists per game. I have died and gone to heaven.

A reliable source told me ...

1) Teachable Guys - the current UD team listens to the coaches and they all try hard to follow the directives/plans/demands of the coaches (they all can't follow them, to a T, due to each person's abilities/capabilities). Most if not all want to listen and learn what is needed from them in the next game. (Unlike Year 1 of AG's coaching)

In general the players try to follow the "game plan" and don't want to let coach AG down.

So ... does AG deserve to get credit for where we are today? Heck Yes

2) Likable Team Culture - Mostly, these guys you would like to have on your team, hang out with or have as sons/family.

I give a ton of credit on this to none other than Obi. Remember his redshirt year when he was stuck on the bench? Despite the fact we had a few upper classmen who developed bad attitudes, He was the guy always smiling, being supportive and enthusiastic, the teams biggest cheerleader pregame, during the game, and first off the bench at every time out to support team mates. This is contagious, and now that he is the star of the team his enthusiasm continues. Watch him when the walk ons are in the game. Could not ask for a better attitude than what we have witnessed for 2 plus years.

Hoping the next man up next year continues to fill the big shoes our biggest highest leaping cheerleader will be leaving behind.

I know a few of you/us were in Maui. If you watched this team both on AND off the court last week you know they genuinely care about each other and get along. Andy they really understand what the Flyer Faithful are all about. They don't wait for fans to approach them. If you walked past wearing anything UD, more often than not they acknowledged you, and thanked you. AG's fingerprints are all over this program...and that's a good thing.

The Titus & Tate podcast talked about this a lot on their post-Maui episode and how much the team really seemed to actually like each other

Anthony Grant shook my hand after the Houston Baptist game. He is thankful for each and every one of us as the Flyer Faithful who attend the games and support the program. I didn't go to Maui. This wasn't a NCAAT game nor a big A-10 game with VCU or Davidson but I experienced first hand what his personality is all about.

He leads by example and that is why the players are so teachable and have bought in to the game plans and they listen intentively to instructions from the coaches. Before the games I have noticed that Obi and several other starters and the four transfers give the coaches a hug and it is evident that there is a comeraderie among them.

Do you Priders remember who was the second happiest guy at Coach Grant's announcement? Coach Donoher! That tells you something.
