Yes, agreed, but again:

1. Those A10 teams listed (who would be screwed) would probably miss the NCAA tournament. But if they don't, even at full strength, are likely first or second round NCAA tournament losers.

2. If it happened to Kansas, they can still make the NCAA tournament without great difficulty because of the "eye test" (I can still read the name "Kansas" on their jersey).

3. Kansas might lose in the first or second round, and that will be disappointing for them to think about while they wait for next year when they reload with 3 more NBA draft picks.

If it was just about making the tournament like most years, I would be less concerned. But I don't want to just make it this year. I want to go deep.

That was more than a highlight tape. It was pretty much the whole game condensed to 25 minutes. I could not watch the other night. This was a great way to see what I missed.

I noticed they left out the scrum and body slam.

Also the first few seconds of the 2nd half and the UD timeout. I still don't know what happened there.

How many technical fouls were called? 8 or 9? What is record?

I never thought of VCU as the thugs until our last home game with them. The new Eggsavior?

Marco, only 3 (!) Ts were called. Love the highlight reel, but it did leave out the scrum and body slam. That slamming player should have been tossed immediately.
Not everybody thinks they were thugs, but I do. I saw the slamming thug with his arm around Rodney's neck/shoulders like a headlock as he took him down. Not everybody believes me, but that's what it looked like down at my end. I shudder to think what they will be like at their place.

Instead they played conservative and didn't score that possession. Who knows, maybe we don't score with him being aggressive, but when you beat the press with a chance to score, take it! Ibi had a similar situation later in the game as well.

We also starting beating the press, standing dribbling at the top of the key for 20 seconds and then forced shots in the last 5 seconds of the shot clock. That is not what we were doing when we where building our lead. This leads to Trey's airball 30 footer with 6 seconds left on the shot clock because guys are scrambling to get a shot up.

We did the same against St. Mary's and the 20 point lead got too close for comfort in that one. Again, it was a lot of just standing around and dribbling at the top of the key and forcing a shot at the end of the shot clock.

UD scored several points off their fast break during that 22-0 run and eventually VCU hit a couple buckets and was able to press them which cut that lead down....And if you remember UD took out Obi for a few minutes because he needed a blow. UD is a far different team without him..
Not what I was saying at all. Above is my second post I made about taking the foot off the gas (Before you posted your reply to my first). There was an obvious change in attack. I never said they were not trying. After our run, VCU went on an 13-3 or 12-2 (can't remember the exact margin) and we went over 5 minutes without a basket. We went from attacking the basket and moving the ball around to standing at the top of the key for 20 seconds and force a shot in the last 5 seconds of the shot clock. I know the guys were tired, I know they needed to be subbed out for a quick rest, but that shouldn't have totally changed the game plan. Also, my example with Obi, Ibi, and Trey, all happened after these guys were subbed back in after their rest.

What I don't get is, we either run the regular offense looking for the right shot and taking it whenever it is there or we hold/dribble until 5s left on the shot clock and then look for something - which often turns out to be a bad shot. Isn't there something in between? Run 5-10s off the shot clock then look for the right shot.
