35-28 Flyers at the half. Whalen with a couple of treys. Richmond with 13 turnovers. Our team defense was really good that quarter. The ladies were working very hard to defend.

Scaife not playing like herself since she's come back. While saying that she scored 11 today.
For a change in q3 Dayton was +3. Dayton up 54-44.

65-51 Flyers final.
This game was won with defense ( Richmond shot 35%) and we hit our free throws (16-17). We are so challenged offensively - shooting only 36% ourselves - we must win in other ways. Today we turned Richmond over 24 times and we nailed our free throws. All that being said, Richmond is not very good.

In this conference have to avoid the bad loss like George Mason had today getting clobbered at a three win St. Bonaventure team. Up next Duquesne and welcome hone Libby Bazelak.

How can we be 10% worse 2p than 3p FG?
Is it bad offense, or can we just not shoot?

Shooting is not this teams strength. Where would they be if Erin hadn’t transferred in!

Scaife hasn't been Scaife all season -- this injury is only going to get better with time off -- which isn't really an option.

One man's opinion:
We are severely challenged athletically - mostly slow and not especially strong or well coordinated. These deficiencies show up in poor rebounding and turnovers when defensively challenged. When shooting the ball, with our poor athleticism, we are unable to separate from defenders and get clean shots. We are too often left to take off-balance flings rather than shots. Hence, our poor shooting percentage - and nobody is a dead-eye shooter like Cannatelli. Whalen is probably our best outside shooter. The biggest reason for the poor 2-point shooting is the inability of the bigs to finish around the rim. The one bright spot has been our team defense and it has kept us in many games. We are holding our opponents to 39% shooting. I thought the second quarter today was one of our best defensive quarters of the year. Everybody was giving a high effort defending. Defensive effort is what has helped us to a 5 game winning streak. That being said, tougher teams than Richmond await.
