So, 538 students out of 26,000 signed the petition, and they actually expect themselves to be taken seriously? Oh, wait, this is 2019, where “will of the majority with respect for the rights of the minority” has been replaced by “will of a small minority and screw the rights of the vast majority”.

This is extremely sad. Are we going to downplay our own independence from colonialism? Our history as a nation may have some warts, but it is what it is, it's about moving forward together as a nation and not repeating the mistakes of the past. But this is just sad, the colonials to me are a symbol of independence, self rule, and self empowerment, which is fitting for a team based in DC. People died fighting for this, and now this is offensive? The constitution and bill of rights could be construed as offensive at the time they were written because it was written to a protect the rights of a section of the population... but now it has been deemed to include every U.S. citizen, which it what it actually says and should do. Alright, I'm done.

I'm pretty sure that's OK now. As long as GWU uses the affirmative defense that they didn't intend it to be offensive, that's now a rock-solid answer.
