No news here, but Moulaye Sissiko tidbit

Not sure if anyone’s posted this, but I saw where Dayton’s incoming freshman center played on a team with six of the roster’s 10 players listed as 6-8 or bigger — a little unusual at the high school/academy level. Two were 6-11, two 6-9, the 6-8 guy and Moulaye Sissiko at 6-10, 220.

Also interesting to see he had 11 offers, at least according to Rivals. Among them: Florida, Cincinnati, Xavier, Penn State, BG’s South Florida team and AAC conference rival UCF, of Tacko Fall fame. He is chiseled, for sure, and that’s probably what attracted those suitors. He’ll come in with a college-ready body. His high school stats are hard to come by, but what little I saw didn’t paint him as a scoring or rebounding machine. My guess is, like many bigs, he’s a bit of a project.

That brings to mind this question: With Jordy, Chase and Obi on next year’s roster, will AG redshirt Moulaye?

I think it's certainly possible. I think getting the player to buy into it is the key these days

Depending, he could probably rack up some decent minutes in garbage time. Games like Detroit, Fordham, etc. with a full roster, AG could really empty the bench at the under minute time out

I’ve read that he is a bit raw on the offensive end but is a tremendous rebounder.

If he red shirts can he still go to Hawaii? Usually red shirts don't travel. May sound trivial, but could be important to him.

I believe they do travel since redshirting isn’t a legal declaration. You can lose your redshirt status at any time by playing in a game.

Im betting on a redshirt but it all depends on how Moulaye shows up and how developed his game is. Our current class depth is kind of wonky. Even with JD's announcement tonight our Junior class next year is very heavy.

My guess is that he redshirts unless he shows he would be a significant contributor from day one. Obi, Jordy, and Chase will all play significant minutes down low and this year (out of necessity) Mikesell and Landers both played minutes at the 4 which will work against smaller teams which are common in the A10. Now we likely don't have Chase for most of the out of conference schedule, so maybe he plays right away even if his minutes in conference play aren't a lot.

If Obi is gone this kid plays. If Obi stays than a great chance Moulaye is a RS.

Does anyone have any actual insight on Moulaye? I feel like I haven't heard anything about him, very little on twitter. A few highlights out there but not much. I'm not a huge fan of redshirting players personally. Him and Jordy might be our only two guys capable of banging down low, so we might need him to play some spot minutes next season.

Obi has some beef, though I think Jordy will be our banger down low. Still, I’m gonna guess Obi has some growth left in him. I expect him to be listed at 6-10, 230 next season. In fact, Obi says he’s already 6-10.

I've posted this as well, Obi's reach, stride and hops equate to 6'10" on the floor. As opposed to Matt K who was 6'10" and had his shot blocked by guards.

Obi plays at least 2-3 inches taller than he is. Both in reach and in grit. Love that guy.
