Something tells me we're going to get Royally outrebounded tomorrow, too.

That might be a top 5 backcourt in the country....potentially second only to the Harrison brothers

If this game comes down to luck, the Flyers will prevail. Ken Pomeroy has UD at #11 in terms of "Luck Factor" while UConn is #119.
The "luckiest" team in D-1? Buffalo.
Really?

CBSSports.com on this afternoon's game:
Bonus game: Dayton vs. Connecticut (2:30 ET, ESPN2) -- I'm not sure I can -- in good conscience -- tell you to watch this game. Dayton's game with Texas A&M Thursday featured nearly 40 turnovers and 35 percent shooting from the field. The gameplay of the Connecticut game was at least better, but the Huskies had to scratch and claw their way to a win against what is projected to be a mid-CAA team in College of Charleston. Also, it's an afternoon game that will be played on a court with stickers on it that causes players to occasionally fly all over the place like they're playing on a slip and slide. It's going to be an ugly game that will likely come down to the final minute. Either team could win and it wouldn't surprise me.

Itwas a write up on CBS Sports of the top games and UD/UConn was the "bonus game" on the list.

Sibert keeps fading on his jumper and coming up short. Until he corrects it he will continue to miss.

Scoochie is going to have to bring it and play much much better than yesterday for UD to have a chance. So far he is playing like he did yesterday. Not to good.

Defense is awful, very weak contesting on most shots. Can't keep up with their moves.
Team making a run with Boatright out.

The defense looks better the past couple UConn possessions. I love how fearless Pollard is. He takes it to the rim with no fear.

Notice Karl Hobbs is on the bench for UConn... maybe they could put an extra guy on the floor in a late game situation and make it the trifecta.

Sibert's shot has to start falling at some point. I like that he is taking the ball to the hole this game. He needs to offer more to this team than just a 3-pt shot.

The only negative I see so far is poor free throw shooting. They are leaving points on the table.

That charge call on Sibert was horrible.
Still, the defense is going to have to step up. We can't give up 80 points and expect to win.

The T on Pollard had to have been called by a ref that never sniffed a dunk in his life. Pollard was going so fast horizontally - as evidenced by how high his feet swung - that he had to hang on or fall on his head. His feet were above the rim!

Toe to toe vs. the National Champ at the half. I'll take that.
Stupid call on the technical. Had that been a UCONN player, I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see him get away with it.

Pollard would have been fine if he had just let go after swinging back to vertical; he pulled himself up on the swing back, hence the Technical.

This game is there for the taking. Sibert and Pollard came to play. Foul situation is in our favor. Defense gave up 41 but frustrated And disrupted UConn quite a bit. Just close out on Purvis or Hamilton (without fouling) if either one gets hot from 3.

We lost 5 points in 1H on stupid stupid plays.
3 points on fouling the three point shooter -- I guess aggressive so forgiven, but never foul the 3 point shooter.
2 points on a T -- he literally kicked the back of the backboard with his foot -- a no brainer T.
Playing the defending champs, you really hope to keep the stupid plays to a minimum.

Best thing I see. We are not intimidated at all. When we were down ten to the national champs a BG team would have already folded. We have to pay Archie whatever it takes.

As the announcer said the hanging on the rim needs to go as a technical. Worst rule in college basketball.

Besides the stupid fu***** tech call (what do the refs want? a paralyzed student-athlete?) and the first couple of minutes I think that was an all around solid half. Need to keep getting it inside to win

54% to their 44%, but only 1-6 on threes. Rebounds even, and that is awesome.
Still waiting for Sibert and D Davis to hit some outside shots.

I know it's still early but, DP's bulk doesn't seem to be helping. Obviously slower, where's the 3. Pollard is a brute. That kid will play in the NBA.

if they got ride of the technical foul rule for hanging on the rim, what Pollard did would have seemed mild, I swear you'd see a guy dunk a ball on the break away then see how many pulls up he could before the other team got back to inbounds the ball. It would get obnoxious very quickly; not to mention the threat of bogging down a handful of games due to broken rims/glass from someone hanging on them excessively.

If Davis or Sibert can start nailing threes, we could win this going away.

UConn is everything that is wrong with college basketball. All they care about are bringing in kids to further the program and then when they're done with them, they're on their own.
I mean, they missed the tourney 2 years ago due to poor academics, and goosed the numbers to not be banned last year.
That, and Kevin Ollie is a jacka**.
Really don't want to lose this.

Our PG play is non-existent and we're still neck and neck with the defending champs. I am missing Khari right now (and Bass, but I've never seen him play).

The momentum has swung back to UConn. We need to make a play to get it back out of this TO.

We're outrebounding them because Pierre and the guards are hitting the boards. Scott and Robinson are doing a good job of clearing their big men out while the others grab the boards. Similar to what Huelsman used to do so well.

I am sorry, but call the guard ticky tacky both ways -- Boatwright fouling every time on our guards. CONSISTENCY

Same play. Boatwright drives into the defender, gets the foul. He could singlehandedly foul out all our guards. Missing Bass right now.

I don't usually complain about officiating, but these guys blow. Scott gets called for travelling, but you could hear his arm slapped. These guys suck.

They refuse to call UCONN's guards for the same fouls that they call against UD.

We were up 53-47 or so and 15-5 run. Time to bring back the starters. We are down 4 and need a run now.
