"Dayton, they are going to surprise some people". Does anyone wonder why in our 4th straight season of going to the dance, with 5 tourney wins under our belt, we would surprise people with a senior laden lineup? But I like being overlooked so not complaining, just wondering.

That graphic and clip is simply CBS trying to lay the groundwork for potential tournament storylines. What all diehard basketball fans need to realize is that CBS/Turner know we will watch no matter what, but they need to get non basketball fans to watch so they create storylines. Northwestern getting in for the first time ever is going to a huge part of their coverage. Just wait and see how much coverage they do of NU and they are praying they advance.
As for Dayton "surprising some people" they need underdogs and will portray any team not from the P5/BE as an underdog no matter what like a couple people already mentioned. It makes for better stories for them to tell throughout the tourney. Just like when UD went to the Elite 8 CBS made a story of everything. They talked to Devin's sister Maya and interviewed her during games. That's the human interest stuff they look for and want. I'm sure this year there will be a feature on Big Steve depending on how far UD advances.
Just remember that every media member and outlet is not out to belittle UD or any team for that matter. They are simply trying to create new storylines to get as many viewers and clicks as possible because we are not their target audience.
