Saint Louis Game Thread
Please Don't Overlook SLU even though they completely blow lol... They average only 60 points a game... Also no injuries!
Game is at 2 PM on Sunday Afternoon and will be shown on the CBS Sports Network.
Starting Lineup:
G 24 Aaron Hines 6’0” 175 RS JR St. Louis, Missouri
G 5 Davell Roby 6’4” 200 JR Memphis, Tennessee
G 32 Mike Crawford 6’4” 200 SR Tipton, Indiana
F 20 Jalen Johnson 6’7” 200 FR Baton Rouge, Louisiana
F 33 Elliott Welmer 6’9” 220 RS FR Columbus, Indiana
Roby is probably their best player, the only guy that averages in double figures (10.6 PPG)
Go UD!

St. L is in a class of awful unto themselves. We should be favored by 25. Their pg is a walkon. Will be like playing a team of Crosby's.

Hope you're right but any team in the A10 this year can pull an upset. Look at Fordham at UMass yesterday. UMass was heavily favored.

Boy, the SLU boys are getting off to a great start - 10-4, as they are 3-3 from the three.

It looks like another slow start - too many quick shots and no extra passes.

Great drive and assist there by Cooke to get Sam a dunk. After his first couple misses from deep he has really looked to drive.

He does say a lot of coach speak but at least he has some knowledge of the A10 unlike many other color commentators we get on our national games.

Kendall looked to be walking gingerly after coming down from that last second drive. Hopefully it's nothing bad.
VCU is up 42-16 a the half on Lasalle.

Mason takes down Richmond 82-77. Mason led by as much as 23.
Hopefully UD comes out a little more energized to start the 2nd half and the Flyers should be in first place in the A10 all by themselves at the end of the day.

I don't understand why with a 20+ lead and under 40 minutes, Pollard and Cooke, who supposedly had serious enough injuries are still in the game? Landers gets 3 points.

Not sure why TL isn't getting a little more playing time. The last couple of times where he played a few minutes I thought he played very well.
Today he had five quick points and looked good doing it. He didn't look lost on defense either. C'mon Arch, give the guy a chance!

Me too. He's somewhat electrifying but obviously raw. Why AM doesn't get him in consistently when the game is out of reach is beyond me, but I'm sure he has his reasons. Seems to me that a freshman should get in any chance possible to be able to see for himself his own weaknesses or that what his coach tells him is true. It's invaluable for working at improvement in the offseason I would think.

The highlight of the broadcast . . . the greatest restaurant west and east of the Mississippi, The Pine Club . . . got props from both Pete and the play-by-play guy. Pete lost some credibility with the O'Brien compliment . . . but is one OK guy . . . and gave our tradition a lot of air time . . . funny, he mentioned his time as a player at Fairfield coming into the Fieldhouse in '67 to play Donnie and the boys.

Just watched the game recording. I always like to hear the announcers' comments, but nearly choked at the O'Brien remark What planet was Gillen living on? The first year was OK, but the next 4 were in the toilet.
Loved this game. Nice to be able to breathe the whole time!

Nice win. Did not like pace slowed
with 6 min to play. If you are going
to keep starters in - play!

I think he definitely has talent and will help the team in the future. Right now, I believe Archie must think he's a defensive liability. Not sure if he's quick enough to guard a wing and not big enough to guard a 4 or 5. Given Archie's emphasis on defense, I can't think of another reason. I know it's a small sample size and most of Trey's minutes have been garbage time, but he does average a foul every 2.5 minutes played.

Charles Cooke a rebound and four assists short of a triple-double.
