Lady Flyers made me proud ..... they got to get the tude that the Men have and it appears they did for this game ... foul trouble and adversity and they played to their hearts!

Can't believe the resiliency of that team. The women weathered every storm, every bit of adversity and prevailed. I don't think the Kentucky fans know what hit them.. But we do. We have not just one, but TWO of the best basketball coaches in the business!

Way to go Flyers!
That was one of the most fun games I have ever watched. Even though I was going crazy over the turnovers - Flyers had 24, Kentucky had 5 (!!) - I could see the Flyers had no quit in them. They looked like they were having fun.
Kelly's late 3 was pure guts, Amber's (I think it was Amber) was pure guts, Jenna Burdette (I think) had a couple of drives near the end that were true Coolville. Every player stepped up and contributed.
And freethrows! I think I saw Kelly at the line look over at Andrea, who had just fouled out, and the look was, "I got this. This one's for you." (I thought Kelly was quietly angry at the KU team's extended huddles at the freethrow line preventing her from getting to the line. But I think that just made her more focused. And when they finally allowed her to walk to the line she nailed them all.) Icewater.
Great way to start the afternoon - now let's finish it the same way over Oklahoma!!

Had to love our team and overcoming the KY dirty trick. Extended huddles, the forearm shiver to Hoover for her fifth foul, the push Jenna Burdette got to pick up her fifth, etc. Our ladies said, "bring it on".

There was a lot of motivation going on. Two former Dayton natives on the Ky staff, former UD coach on the Ky staff and Geno wannabe coach. He wanted his players to not just win the game but beat Burdette (freshman point guard) and the flyers into submission. He wanted a 30-40 point win, and all he got was a lot of whining. Care for some cheese to go with that.
NC State up next, very beatable.
Winning this game put a plug in the conversations regarding home court advantage.

What about Ally Mallot? Perhaps the best performance in the history of UD women's basketball - 28 points and 13 rebounds. She was popping off the screens and hit one after another. The Wildcat women had no answer to her!

Congratulations Coach Jabir, staff and Flyers!!
Not ashamed to say my eyes filled with tears when the buzzer sounded. Remarkable win on their home floor (Their streak WAS 54-0 against non conference opponents on that floor). We were the only team to win in the round of 32 on the opponent's home floor. It is very difficult to advance in the women's NCAA because of talent differential, but also because of the home court advantage the top seeds are given.
The NCAA bracket indicates that we will play the winner of Louisville v. USF who play tomorrow night at 9 pm.

NC State is not in the NCAA tournament. Dayton plays the winner of Louisville/South Florida.
This game was so thrilling Elena Della Donne was tweeting about it being off the chain.

The Ky fans were absolutely gratious and so impressed with our whole team. We talked with several and they had only great things to say. Attended the game and watched the video later that evening. Ky played hard, just as we did. No sour grapes from this fan.
