Who is going to Vandy?
Plenty of tickets left $7-$47. Average $20.
Only a 4 1/2 - 5 hour drive.

Moved to Nashville last year. I was in heaven when they announced this game. I will obviously be there.

I-65 from about 50 miles south of L-ville to 30 miles north of Bowling Green has ongoing construction. Traffic from 30 north of Nashville into the city is always backed up. Plan accordingly.

Enjoy Viper!
Maybe you can send us some impressions of Vandy fans, the arena, the game and whatever else.

I'll be there with a three other Flyer alumni as well. Planning to hit Double Dogs in Hillsboro Village before the game.

I was planning on going as my middle son is a junior at Vandy. Alas too much going on at work and my son has finals looming so I will watch on TV and trash talk via text.
The Vandy arena is indeed unique. I think the flyers can handle it. I find the place rather claustrophobic.

Did I hear "Lets go Flyers" chant on TV or was it something related to Vanderbilt that I didn't recognize?

I heard it several times. I also thought I heard a "We are UD" near the end.

I heard both chants. My wife thought I was "hearing things" so I rewound and turned up the volume... It was great!

Huge ATTA Boy (and gals) to all of the Flyer Roadies.
It is so f'in UD that Flyers fans whoop it up better than anyone on the road.

Nashville natives are pretty polite. Really didn't have any interaction with any of the Vandy fans, but have been to a UF-Vandy football game previously and spoken with some of their fans. Nice people overall, no trash talking. I was kind of surprised that the lower bowl of the arena was pretty empty for the whole game.
Memorial Gymnasium is interesting as everyone knows. We were seated in the upper level behind the Dayton basket, but unlike sitting behind the hoop at UD Arena, there is a fairly low ceiling that obstructs view of the big center scoreboard. It was much more like being in the upper reaches of the 400 section, even though we were maybe just a tad higher than the upper 200 seats behind a basket. Also unlike UD Arena, there really isn't any seating between the end zones and the sides because the support beams come in much closer to the floor. Just imagine not having sections 115, 222, & 223 and associated corner sections at UD. The wings on each side must be much deeper than at UD since it seats ~800 more than the Arena. The rows on the lower bowl sides are curved, I thought that was weird.
I thought we were toast after they went on their first half big run. Our defense started to fall apart and LaChance started hitting some open threes. My friend commented that we needed to get it down to 9 at half to have a chance; I said we needed it at 5. We somehow cut it to 8.
Very satisfying road win in a difficult place to play against a very good team.

That was us. It was amazing how a few hundred Flyer Faithful completely took over that gym.

I heard the "Let's go, Flyers!" chants throughout the 2nd Half as well. Sounded like more than just a few hundred of the Faithful. Too bad there isn't more support from the Nashville community for Vandy. 12,000 fans in that barn would create a real ruckus.
