GW Coach - No Surprise
Given his antics on the sideline during games, this comes as no surprise at all.
Lonergan gets booted from daughter's middle-school basketball game after she fouled out. Turns out the official scorer (likely an 8th grader) had her fouls wrong. This happens, oh, about EVERY SINGLE YOUTH GAME, be it basketball, volleyball...even golf.

I agree. Hurley is an embarrassment to himself and to the university.

Listening to Lonergan's version of what happened, it doesn't appear that he was acting crazy or disrespectful...he was coming to the defense of his daughter during a stressful moment (fouling out). The reason for the "quiet eviction" is probably because parents are not allowed to approach any member of the officiating crew with a beef or question about the officiating.
Of course this doesn't mean that Lonergan always conducts himself in a sportsmanlike manner during his games at GW.

67, understood but some parents "come to the defense" of there kids....when they "foul" out of a game in 8th grade-----some parents chose another approach (likely the better one IMHO)!
Guys essentially a "public figure", must have been one helluva an important 8th grade to put yourself in the middle of something like that! Just my 2 cents!

First of all, the article says JV game, not JH game, so unless someone knows something I do not, this is high school age girls. Not sure where the comments about the 8th grader are coming from from what I am reading.
Regardless of that detail though, If things went down as the coach says, and all he did was simply ask the question during a time out, to whom I believe is the scorekeeper for his daughters team, why are we so quick to judge him on this issue?
Sounds like the over reaction by the middle aged man may have been a result of the middle aged man being caught in some scorebook shenanigans

One of my clients, and several of his friends are bigwig donors and URI alum and supporters. They are telling me Hurley is either on the proverbial hot seat, or gone after the year.
they are embarrassed and don't respect him. They and the University.
