Dayton Syracuse most watched game "on Cable" of the first week

TBS' Dayton-Syracuse was top tourney game on cable TV during first week (4.02 million viewers). TNT's Providence-UNC ranked 2nd (3.74M)

EDIT: I'm an idiot, this probably doesn't include the games on CBS haha... My fault, but still pretty impressive.

impressive. I assume the cbs games weren't included, I assume UK v Wichita St was on CBS and probably the highest rated game of the week.

The Dayton-Stanford game will be on CBS, but the Dayton-Syracuse game was on TBS, not CBS.

When they say "cable" TV they are referring to TBS and TNT games, not CBS. Still very impressive.

That's great, but let's not kid ourselves. Syracuse probably has more Alums (and rabid fans) in the NYC metro area than St. Johns, SHU and Providence combined. Viewership in both games was driven more by who the opposition was (and the chance of an upset) than by us or Providence. We've been getting great publicity (publicity no amount of money could buy), but, for that to continue, we need to continue winning.
