LaSalle Thread
I would expect to see a lot of action from some of our younger players in this match. Someone told me LaSalle doesn't fund all 12 scholarships - he said it was about 1/2 (6). That's very tough. You're only going to have 1 or 2 a year and everyone else is a walk-on. I don't know if it's true, but it sheads a lot of light on their program if this is the case.
LaSalle is currently last in almost every stat category in the A-10...except one. They rank 3rd in Aces/Set averaging 1.5. And they have two players that rank in this category individually. Clark is #1 with 0.67 a/s and Mazalewski is #3 with 0.60.
So we take care of business on the whole court no matter what players are on the court. And, specifically work on our serve receive and try to hold a pretty good serving team to 1, maybe 2 aces for the whole match. Two would be 1/2 their current average.

UD goes up 2-0, winning set 2 25-16. Same lineup as first set. Everyone doing well.
4 Team Blocks - Anna, Megan and Shayne with 2 each. (We have 2 freshmen holding down the middle - that's impressive and good news for next year.)
Team H% .323 - Shayne .300, Anna .375, Megan .400, Amanda .462.
Bro 11 digs, Amanda 9.
Ally & Amanda with 1 ace each.
Team holding La Salle to only .045 hitting and they have ZERO aces against us. They were ranked #3 in the A-10 after last weekend in this category.
VERY NICE JOB BACKROW!

Sweep @ 25-7 in Set 3. Is that score impressive or what? GREAT job!
Bro 15 digs, Amanda 12.
9 team blocks. Anna 5, Megan 4, Shayne and Jess 3. Everyone in the front row got a block. Second time this year.
85 swings with only 9 errors - right around 10% - EXCELLENT.
Team H% .353. Anna .357, Shayne .364, Amanda .545.
Ally - 3 aces - the girl has just got it!
Held LaSalle to -.031 hitting % and ZERO aces.
UD did EVERYTHING it was suppose to do against these two teams this weekend. That did not always happen last year. We dropped a couple sets to teams we should have swept. We were in total control of both these matches. Excellent job. During the last 2-3 years of Penn State's championship runs, they played a lot of these type of matches and never dropped a set. They were so good mentally against weaker opponents and that's not easy to do. Good job ladies!

That is the way you would hope that the team would dominate. Ally said she likes to mess with the service receivers, looks like she is doing a pretty good job of it.

So Lindsay, Becky and Rachel didn't play at all. Paige only played in 1 set. And Broerman was libero all 3 sets. So, out of the 6 players that usually start, only 2 of them truly played. (I'm including Paige for whoever she usually starts for, as the libero she's in from point 0.) Surprised they had Jess play the entire game, instead of letting the others set. Wow!
LaSalle has to hate losing 12-16-7 to mostly the second stringers. (Minus Jess and Amanda.)
