Nothing earthshaking from the 30 minutes ... that was more like 10 minutes with news/weather/traffic/commercials ... his focus IMO was that these kids KNOW what he wants, what he is trying to build, they know what to expect (unsaid the people that left didn't buy in or get it). IMO his point was this group will be HIS group.
Larry and CAG
- no off season today
- Culture is what CAG wants to build, he wants the right kids to build UD identity
- the right fit
- he is trying to level his classes (Fresh/Soph/Jun/Senior)
- Guys coming in understand what will be expected
New names
- Dwayne Cohill
- Jhery Matos Unselfish,
- Frankie Policelli comes in as Fresh, 6'8'', good passing, needs to mature, impact team right away, semi- finals of state
Two years
Ibi (E-Bee) Watson - familiar with UD out of HS, he was told CAG's plans for UD ahead, great man, great work ethic, great skill set, level of maturity
Rodney Chatman - 2 years at Chatt, good rebound, good assist ratio, impact the game, he knows UD school commitment to the student athletes

What If
Kostas is advised by NBA scouts to return to school. Would he consider UD? Would UD consider him a "culture fit"? Given the degree of difficulty in recruiting quality bigs. Or would he consider Indiana?

He hated being a student - he will play in Europe.

I believe that ship has sailed--he withdrew from school when he made his announcement.

As said above CAG used the word culture several times during short time on air. I like that approach. Way less headaches.

Completely agree. Hopefully that culture includes playing defense.
