BG got some heat after last game, but a good coach has his team ready after a defeat......TBD

Favor: I am still using an OLD Mac book computer so I cant view the game at channelsurfing or daytonflyers. I can only read at websites not watch OR listen to the game......
THEREFORE, PLEASE update the score as much as possible.
Thank you very much!! I will be refreshing this thread about a million times for the next two hours

I just don't get it. Impatiently turning it over and chucking three's. Is this what we are really teaching?

Not to be a wet blanket, but we have played two halfs of good ball, the first half of Mercer and the second half of marquette. The rest of the time we have been ordinary. So far tonight it's more of ordinary.

I disagree with Bucky, I don't think Coppin is playing harder, they are just playing a lot smarter. Mickey alone has 4 to's and several bricks for shots.

Change something!
This is a great time to change SOMETHING....
1. Run a full court trap
2. Reverse the floor on offense (it's easy to defend on side of the floor)
3. Put in the last five guys on the bench as a wake-up call
UD is NOT ready to play, and it's a reflection that they are not prepared....having said that, BG needs to do something to light a fire. Send a message now b/c when it's NOT Coppin on the opposing bench (i.e. when X is over there) this game would already be out of hand.
The point is, when whatever you are doing isn't working, you HAVE to do somehting to get things rolling.

When was the last time we had a UD team that could crisply pass the ball around the court? I mean, a lot of teams can pass and get guys open who then knock down shots. UD just doesn't ever seem to do that.

A lot of these passing turnovers are often the fault of the receiver and not the passer. I was always taught that when someone is passing you the ball, you go towards the pass instead of standing flat-footed waiting for it. I've seen this happen at least three times tonight.
Fundamentals, fundamentals, fundamentals.

33-29 UD with 1;20 left.
2 dunks by MJ and CJ gave us the lead.

I can stop hyperventalating now that we have the lead. But after surviving what is possibly the ugliest 15 minutes of Flyer basketball ever.

When was the last time CW missed two dunks in a game?
It's obvious Marcus is not shooting well from outside. He didn't even think about it and then got trapped. Smart play throwing it off the coppin player though.
We've got to come out with a lot of fire in the second half.

Last three minutes of the first half and first three minutes of the second half are always so very important. Let's hope we come out for the second half ready for bear. I thought Coppin was getting worn down. How many guys do they play? Too many fouls! What, they have 13 points from the foul line?

Out rebounded by a bunch and 10 to's. Lazy basketball in that first half.
Why aren't we seeing more of Luke against this zone? He can hang on D tonight.

Hello Roarke....Ellsworth here!
I have commented on the boards before that I've liked CJ since seeing him at this year's Family Weekend exhibition game. He was always around the ball....just something baskeball about him.....D, moving without the ball, small guy rebounds....
The fact that he might actually be able to hit a shot is gravy! Hopefully he or PW will fill the role because if someone doesn't, it will be a very tough year.....

Richmond and the Dukes look the only A-10 teams that will lose today--good for the conference

Fortunately with no web coverage, I was isolated from that. But back then we knew we were bad. Today we think we're pretty good. Our perspective makes this even fuglier.

Aha. Well maybe Luke will see more time in the second half, get he and Chris out there together and stretch this zone.

The fact that he might actually be able to hit a shot is gravy! Hopefully he or PW will fill the role because if someone doesn't, it will be a very tough year.....

Ellsworth, huh? You must be a Xavier fan. J/K. Ellsworth Monkton Toohey embodies everything evil about mankind. http://www.sparknotes.com/lit/founta...haranal_2.html
Chris Johnson reminds me of former Flyer Paul Hawkins. Sure he can leap and is a lefty, but his release is Hawkinsesque, too.

When Luke is hitting, it's hard not to like him.

How much time are they allowing Coppin State to inbound the ball--seemed like it was 8 or 9 seconds

Nah, Bucky's just calling it like it is. He is actually quite positive when the Flyers are playing well. He's just an intense fan who wants to see the Flyers win. Been listening to him since I was a kid...

Great link!!! There are no Ellsworths at UD Baby!
After seeing him play...I'm hoping CJ can be part a big part of the the bigger puzzle........

Can understand missing an alley oop dunk--but how do you miss a two handed dunk standing next to the basket?

2nd Half
Ball movement has been MUCH better this half...I can actually live with this 1/2 court offense unlike the 1st half. If we made our 3's we could be unreal.

I agree 100%, the ball movement actually looks crisp and like it's moving with a purpose, and not just being tossed like a hot potato

Our ball rotation is just too slow. It's like the ball sticks in players hands.
