Bias against non-BCS/P5 teams
Can you imagine the natl publicity Schoochie would have received for his OT performance Friday if he played for a 23-5, league leading, BCS/P5 team? Did I miss replays on weekend TV.

Well, maybe it balances out because he's well known just for his name alone. I remember last year right before playing Syracuse, one of their posters said something like "is Scoochie Smith still with them, seems like he's been there for 10 years".

I heard that. It's just like we talk about other players: Jack Gibbs, Mo Alie-Cox, Hassan Martin, TJ Cline, and a lot of others in the past. Are they ever going to graduate???
Seemed like Wally Szczerbiak played at Miami for at least 10 yrs, lol.
But I love it when other people say that about Dayton players.

I remember feeling the same way about Kelly Tripuka of Notre Dame in the late 70s. But geez, we played them every year, Syracuse only played us once 2 years earlier. But the announcers kept talking about Scooch so I guess it stuck in their craw.
