Golden Dnutz - Furman
While you all were drinking beer and watching My Team pound Furman, I was officiating some of the ugliest basketball known to man...or at least Miamisburg and Fairborn. UGH!
And since I missed the game the Golden D's are a function of the box score, which - for obvious reasons - eliminates my man Kendall Pollard from all consideration.
How the h*ll did Ohio State beat UK?!

Would love to vote for Steve (gotta love 5/5 from the line for a 6'11" guy), but he lost his man on defense too often. Cooke was a monster on the boards tonight. Had to give it to The Cookie Monster.

Cooke was a beast and after 7 first half boards and Archie's half time speech where I'm sure he mentioned the fact that Furman was out rebounding us, Cooke grabs another 8 in the second half.
Also good to see DD's three three's int he second half. He's struggling but glad to see him knock a couple down---especially #3 which looked to be from NBA type range!

I voted for Big Steve because I think without him we might have been down double digits after the first half and even more to start the 2nd.

Archie's voice is almost completely gone. He must have been a bear this whole week in practice.

Not to mention the halftime talk about being outrebounded and the on/off 5-minute "discussion" with the zebras after a terrible offensive foul call on Pollard driving to the hoop right in front of him.

Charles was a beast on the boards, but Steve achieved what we hoped he would against a team that isn't in our class-- a double double. And he showed how to hit free throws.
Charles will get his share of accolades quite often.

Yeah, that call was about as bad as they come. The defender was sliding about as much as those semis on Ice Road Truckers. A horribly inept call.

Charles played with a bit of an attitude from the first minute of the game. I am just wondering if Archie didn't get on his case about putting that freakish level of athleticism to work on every play. It just seemed to me that he played with a chip on his shoulder tonight, as he was much more aggressive on the boards.

Didn't see it, but I have a feeling this could fall under the "blind squirrel and acorn" theory.

I watched most of the game. KY is not close to what they have been. Besides Jamal Murray, who had 33 pts and is a major talent, KY has a long way to go. Another case of a team being overranked on reputation, as is Duke, who is their only good win.

KD gets my vote. Soooo many times this team starts games as if playing in quick sand and every single time it's KD who, with a big play (steal, bullrush to the rim, 3 pt'er) lets the rest of the team know the game has started.

Can't believe DDavis isn't getting more votes. I talked to a bunch friends today and all of them thought he was the spark that got the team rolling.

Maybe it's because DDavis has been so underwhelming in most every other game?
