UD and Today's CBS Sports Radio Minute

John Feinstein's take on the NCCA Tourney committee's past selections ran a few times today during CBS Sports Radio Minute. Nice prop for the Flyers, give it a listen...

Feinstein was in high school and sat with Mrs. Donoher behind the Dayton bench at the Garden when we beat Kansas in the '68 NIT final.

Why don't these type of media opinions start to change NCAA thinking? There has to be a reason that is logical and defend-able... These are not dumb people.

There is a reason it will change. It will get worse.

There should be a rule that when two teams are equal the nod should go to the school but who have not been to the dance the longest.

I agree with you Go-UD-Go, but the decision-makers in today's environment will find a way to make two teams, that would otherwise be equal, "unequal". They'll cite statistics like "Record vs. Top 25", knowing d@mned good & well that Team A went 1-5 vs. the Top 25 and Team B didn't play any games against the Top 25...but they'll ignore Team A's 3-9 record vs. the Top 100 and Team B's 5-1 record vs. the same. They'll favor Team A in such a situation, even if Team B has a 39 RPI and Team A a 42 RPI. BS, I know, but unfortunately, also reality.

It may be hard to get an invite to the Big East, but it will be harder to make the committee change their ways to not favor the Power Conferences.
