Princeton game thread
Unfortunately unless someone accesses Ivy League digital plus since there's no radio, the only way to follow today's game is through live stats. Princeton 0-2 - lost by 8 to Rider and by 11 at GW. They've shot 30 and 38 percent from the field in their first two games. Like the Flyers they are being bugged by turnovers, 21 in each game.

Should be a win for our lady's, and the easiest game so far, but playing on the road is never easy.

Sure hope so for conference pride as well - so far the league is 10 under .500 and there are four teams who have started oh-and-three. I just hope thoughts of UConn aren't leaking into anyone's head today.

What a beautiful, historic campus and you can bet the Princeton team is smart too, just like our team. Will be tracking this game along with many other sporting activities this weekend.
Too bad there is no video without paying. Seems there should be something whereby UD gets access to the games when we play and opens them to the fans. Any thoughts about how to get this?

It's up to the home team as to what the arrangement is and I guess the Ivy League has some pay digital service. We're fortunate that UD still has free feeds since not many institutions do anymore. It is sad that there's no radio feed provided by Princeton.
At least UConn will be available through SNY Direct TV 639 for Tuesday night.

What a shame there is no audio or visual. I would pay five bucks or so, but the minimum appears to be 16 bucks for a month. Maybe somebody on this board with an extra 16 bucks can give us some real time updates.
Is anybody at the game and can give us any eyewitness updates?

UD up 15-13 after the first - a trait I'm loving about this team is that 6 players have already scored and that doesn't include Austria or Layfield. Another slow start for Burdette - 0-4 from the field. Only four turnovers.

19-9 second quarter for Princeton so UD trails by 8 at half. Four players with 4 points each. Eleven turnovers (ugh) Austria and Layfield have accounted for 7 of them.

We are competing in games and committing as many turnovers as made offensive baskets. This is not an 85pt pace game.
We need to be committing 9-13 turnovers a game. Not a half.

Flyers respond to Princeton's 19-9 second quarter with a 19-9 third quarter with Lauren with 11 points and Harris with 9 points and 8 rebounds. 16 turnovers for the game.

Never 'seen' so many turnovers by two teams in my life. Or missed three pointers. Or missed layups.

Dayton wins in OT 62-56! That...was...U-G-L-Y. Kinda glad now that there wasn't video to watch.
Still win #2 is win #2.

Great win for the Flyers - outscored Princeton 11-1 in the last 2 and a half minutes. Congrats!

It's a win and build on it instead of tearing it down.

Look at Alex Harris 11 points and 14 rebounds. 10 rebs for Scaife. Eight steals combined for Burdette and Austria.

If the Flyers don't reduce the TOs and increase the 3s,...both substantially,...they're going to get buried at Storrs.
UConn is very good.

Stating facts is not tearing it down. We cannot play like this in Storrs. I felt our strength was our backcourt, seems more issues than expected.

....had to smile `80.
UConn lost three All-Americans to graduation. At times against Baylor there were three freshmen on the floor. So, what I meant by "very good" referred not to "UConn past" but "new UConn".
No one, incl coach Auriemma, quite knew what to expect. After a few games it appears as if his new team is "very good".....as compared to "sensational" in recent years.
I'll be there Tuesday wearing my Navy blue Dayton sweatshirt and proud as punch. This sort of regular season exposure against an opponent like UConn is good for our program...an opportunity...it's up to the Flyers to make the most of it. A final deficit less than 20 at Storrs would be a "win" for the program. Forty, or so, not so much.
Go Flyers!

Sorry UAC, I didn't know you were putting down UConn by merely calling them "very good" as opposed to "sensational."

I think it is only natural to expect Kelley to take a few weeks before getting comfortable. It will take more than a couple of games for me to worry about Jenna or Kelley, the guard play should be great
I think that Scaiffe is a huge bright spot right now, it looks like she can be a star. Harris's rebounding is also a big plus
The turnovers can't continue at this rate but we have been worried about turnovers every year for a long time. UConn will turn those turnovers into a LOT of easy points so they might learn a tough lesson if improvement doesn't come quickly.
I'm waiting for a veteran forward to step up
