Father "Chuckie"

Been to quite a few college basketball games-----watched a whole lot more on TV over the past 40+ years.

I have never seen anything like the "mascot" that Providence brought with them to the game!

Couldn't help but watch----but I and those with and around me couldn't figure out whether that "get up" and the gyrations otherwise disguised as "dancing" were suppose to make you laugh or something else?

The Stanford tree had nothing on this thing---one of the guys next to me affectionately called "Father Chuckie" just before halftime after we had a chance to catch some of it's schtick!

Idea's? Is that the "normal" mascot for this hoops program? Interesting to say the least!

That is the worst mascot ever. It looked like a ghost with a bad case of food poisoning.

I thought, from the upper deck at Nationwide, it looked like the boogeyman from Scream.

Any other thoughts?

"The guy from Scream" was the immediate call in our area, too.

I was thinking Skeletor from He-Man. Just bad. And gross.

Possibly, but Skeletor's face has more "definition" than the PC mascot.

The mascot's face is smoother - more like a Teletubby (or "Telobotomy", as I used to call them):

Their mascot looks like a whiner with a stone to pass, too.

Found this link ranking the worst mascots of the NCAA Tournament. Father Chuckie is #1, followed closely by the blue blob. Unfortunately, there's Rudy lurking at #6.

Slow day in sports...

I was cracking up at the descriptions and the Blue Bob....or dot....or whatever it is took a hit too but overall it was entertaining for the off season.

Strangely, when I view this link on my smart phone, number 6 shows up blank. Did a UD alum delete it from the page? I sense a conspiracy theory?

least inspiring

I would have to agree that most of these on the list are pretty ugly. I saw Wichita State play in Cleveland, and their mascot really is creepy. If the category were most uninspiring rather than ugliest, I would have to go with Brutus Buckeye. I find him laughable.
