AP All time Top 100

Forgive me if this has already been posted. Something different to talk about as we play the waiting game for Ray Harper to sign on the dotted line.

More a summary of the all time AP polls over the years. From the link posted-

To determine the all-time Top 100, the AP formula counted poll appearances (one point each) to mark consistency and No. 1 rankings (two points each) to acknowledge elite programs. Keep in mind that AP doesn’t release a poll after the NCAA Tournament, so eventual national champions are not factored into these rankings. Instead, this list focuses more on those programs that consistently appear in the poll and/or at the top during the regular seasons.

Makes no sense to me to have UD that low. Only 6 spots above Duquesne...ridiculous! That far behind Pitt...again, ridiculous.

Behind Boston College & Texas A&M?? Yeah, that's a realistic poll...

It is not a poll

Considering Western Kentucky is ranked four spots above Dayton, maybe we should rethink our collective decision to disregard Ray Harper as a coaching option.

It's just silly to present this as one, nondeliminated list. College basketball has a pretty clear Modern Era and what happened before that.

Things that happened in basketball before the three point shot / shot clock / RACIAL interrogation, belong grouped together - separate from the rest. All of those things created a, de facto, new sport. Men's college basketball of the present has more in common with present day women's basketball than it does basketball in the 1950s.

Simply, this and all things like this, should be deliminated in the early to mid-80s. Some people say 1979 because that sort of represents the year of the media revolution; but, I think 1985 because at that point you have the new shot clock and three point line but also the expanded 64 team Tournament.

People seem to understand the absurdity of comparing the 1869-1919 Reds with 1970-Present day team but Baseball's rules changed far less than college basketball.

Plus the AP poll is a joke anyway.
