It’s Dave Harper that is the AD at Duquesne.

Good for them. A private school from PA and the big state school of WVA doing what apparently can't be done in OH. Hats off to the AD's, Dambrot and Huggins.

Every year there is a thread about Wright State and UD playing on Martin Luther King day. And of course there are all the usual arguments. Blah, blah, blah...
The reality is local rivalries are not in the UD DNA any more. (or many other colleges) Miami, UC, X.... and more. UC, X etc. see no interest in playing UD again.
This concept about a charity game/ scrimmage is perhaps one the better ideas to come out in quite some time. A really good idea. Congratulations to Dave Harper.
My hometown, Dayton has taken an awful beating this summer. The universities have played a role in recovery, especially the tornado relief. Sinclair CC has quietly done so much. They gave employees paid time off to help clean up and donate time to the recovery! The President of Sinclair was in the community with a chain saw the next day! UD and Wright State have also helped.
The shootings hit too close to home. UD students have been in the are of the shooting many times.
So basketball is a game and a passionate game for competitive people. But, perhaps UD basketball could look at some innovative ways to support Dayton. After all, the community supports UD basketball in a big way. Not all 13,000 fans in the arena are UD alumni. I am, but I supported UD basketball before I ever took a class there.
Food for thought.

Just to clarify the Duq and WV game is an exhibition, and these are two schools not in the same state. Maybe UD could donate some of their exhibition game gate.

I was not clear in my post, but yes an exhibition game, not a regular season contest.
