Broken Thumb!

Larry and Bucky on the pregame broadcast said that Baby D has been playing all year with a broken thumb!

This puts his relatively high turnover numbers in a new light. Kudos to him for sucking it up and doing what he could to help the team.

But that don't account for turnovers galore for a senior or poor effort last few games.

It certainly sheds some light.DD has had to do more this year that ever in his career. The turnovers have driven me crazy as well. But he's never going to be a physical player and is never going to be a guy that can play into contact and that's the reason for most of his turnovers.

I'm fairly certain that whatever event caused his broken thumb, his head whiplashed back uncontrollably...

That explains a bunch. He seemed to have better ball control in the first few games. I admire the guy, when others have quit.

I admire him as well. He had his struggles on the court at times, but he definitely rose to the occasion and had a very admirable senior year. He always played hard no matter what the circumstances.

UD hides injuries constantly. You would be shocked at the unreported injuries.
You have to respect the players who play through it.

Notice that DD never mentioned it once or made an excuse.

After the Mikesell hip news and Landers hernia information coming out after last season, I've wondered if every guy that hasn't played or played up to expectations had some sort of injury.

If it came out next week Matej was hurt all year it wouldn't surprise me.

Or given our results this year, we have to suspect that every player, besides Landers, is hurt. I am really suspicious of Gruden. The guy never plays, and then starts the last game. Hopefully the truth comes out!

I am wondering why this was disclosed now? Maybe wait until the A10T/entire season is over instead?
