Watching SLU destroy Villanova got me ready for this one. We got some love when the A-10 was discussed during that game.

Team is looking good. With Olander having two fouls, the inside game should pick up.
I also think Dillard should drive on their no.3 every chance he gets.

Dayton's Bench is Killing Fairfield
Very nice production from the bench. It bodes well for the rest of the game as Fairfield wears down.

Ever notice how Oliver never looks to the basket when he gets the ball. Always a sideways or backward pass.

MK and JP had great halves. They are the ones that did the damage. The rest of the team has not done much yet. PW and CJ need to step up in the second half.

CJ with seven minutes, two points, no rebounds. I hope he can improve on that. Kavs should have more points but he has been great with six offensive boards. Let's hope we can keep Olander off the court or under control in the 2nd half

Shooting a better percentage for 3s than 2s in the first half. Hopeful that our percentage will significantly improve and that we will get some production from CJ and Kevin. Glad to have the lead.

Is that like the 8th or 9th basket given up underneath on an inability to rebound? Fairfield gets two shots every trip down the court. The initial shot and the scramble stick back.
REBOUND THE (*&(*&(*& BALL.

We are getting torn up inside. We cannot get defensive stops. Every trip for the Stags is two attempts at the basket. If we'd just rebound after the first miss, this would be a 20pt cakewalk right now.

Again. Fairfield is going to get two shots at the basket on a trip down the court (after timeout). Rebounding has killed us the second half. Who cares what % you shoot when you get 2 shots every trip.

If you think our game was ugly, check out top 20 Fl St and Harvard. It was 14 all at the half, and the final in the 40's

Game threads are fun to read after the game. Hindsight certainly is 20/20. About 10% of the posts are about how bad our defense is this year. I don't know, but I am guessing if we hold opponents to 49 points a game we'll be just fine.
There were a lot of loose balls underneath that turned int layups for them, but some were just bad bounces. I thought the intensity was there on D.

Thought Fairfield coach, Sid Johnson, made a huge tactical error pressing to start the 2nd half. Olander picks up his 3rd less than 30 secs into half, effectively nullifing him. Not to mention a press against UD would be much more effective when KD is resting.

I really liked this win. I think that MK had a great game even though he didn't score much his rebounding is amazing.
KD continues to look better and better as the game goes on. He's got a lot of clutch in him.
Nice to see Parker rebound with a strong game. Changed the game in the first half with those threes.
Even though CJ struggled scoring I didn't mind, he put out a lot of effort on the other aspects of the game.
D was much improved from last game.

Agree. The announcers helped MK build his reputation when they discussed him. Hope he continues to be a presence even if not a leading scorer in a particular game. I do like KD and what he brings. Parker was a big surprise and was chosen as player of the game. Would like to see consistency there. CJ is ready to break out of the funk he is in, and I hope to see a great game Sunday (particularly since he is playing in front of his family).
Cannot wait to see the Flyers play Tubby's team on Sunday.

Not impressed at all with Sydney Johnson. I saw his name floated around by a couple of Priders during the coach search. Good thing we didn't go get him. That "T" was very amateurish. It was like he was throwing a fit because he knew they had lost the game. That "T" definitely sealed the deal.
Dillard is looking to set guys up, even when at times I'm screaming for him to take it to the hoop. It feels like he could score anytime he wishes. Anyone notice him almost break that poor kid's ankle early in the game?
Good win. Josh Parker's shooting saved us. Any one of 6 guys can step up any given night. Bring on the Gophers.

Beating a decent team with CJ and PW doing little (10 points combined), is a good sign.
