Haven't followed the team that closely this year . . . is the kid from France hurt, in the doghouse, what? Somebody fill me in when you get a minute. Thanks.

Gavs has been hurt on two occasions, so he missed some games and many practices. He has been OK physically the last few games, and played sparingly. He is not really a center bulk-wise, and would have to compete with Oliver, Robinson and Pollard for a forward slot. Archie has played him mostly at center where he struggles on defense. He's a tweener with less than average athletic ability.

Even though out of position at the 5, I think Gavs has moves to get off and make shots arround the rim. I like his hustle and I think that injuries have limited him this year. Don't know how much we can expect next year, but I would think we will need him a lot!

no doubt Terry -- i'm trying not to think about replacing DMO's rebounding.
people may forget that Gavs verballed to Providence before coming to Dayton (prep year at IMG Florida in between), so he has talent. must be a combination of his health, our system etc. hope he stays the course.
this suggests he had offers from SMU, Texas Tech & Towson:

Gavs has always struggled to defend, although I will admit the others have defensive issues as well. My guess is that based on what the coaches see in practice everyday they believe he is the least viable option among the four big guys.
