La Salle Game Thread
Come on guys, don't jump off the train just yet, Toughest 2 game start in A-10 by far... We still have a chance to make plenty of noise in the conference... It starts tonight in Philly.
Potential Starting Lineup:
G 3 Tyreek Duren 6’0” 185 JR Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
G 10 Sam Mills 6’2” 200 JR Sunrise, Florida
G 55 Ramon Galloway 6’3” 180 SR Philadelpia, Pennsylvania
G 1 D.J. Peterson 6’5” 190 SO Burnsville, Minnesota
F 25 Jerrell Wright 6’8” 240 SO Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
If Peterson doesn't start, it will be the 6'11" sophomore Steve Zack getting the nod.
Go Flyers! Keep our winning streak over the explorers in tact!

Last time the Flyers started 0-3 in conference play was in 2005-06. We started 0-4 (@For, vs Cha, @Rich, vs Tem), and finished 6-10 that year in conference play.

Bucky just said London Warren is listening in. I would love to see him as another guard in the starting line up tonight.

Doesn't appear that FS Ohio is streaming. Front row sports stream is also a no-go. Bucky and Larry let's do this!

I hate Tom Gola Arena. Went there for a game back in 2006--terrible part of town, crappy campus, you had to walk upstairs to get to the gym. Top it off with a loss.
We look like crap. Becoming standard.

It seems Dillard leaves his feet on many passes he shouldn't, and it often bites him.

I don't know what has happened to Kevin Dillard, but he has turned into a turnover machine. Forces the ball every time down.

Bucky and Larry showed Dayton with 13 at that time, but Fox showed them 11. Assume Fox didn't count that shot by DMO.

Wish I had taken my daughter to see the Flyers Women tonight. They only committed 6 turnovers in the first half, in route to a 51-22 halftime lead.

I've been watching this team for a while, and they've seemed to get worse and worse as the season goes on. Whats worse is that they don't seem to be running a very efficient offense. It just seems like a continual series of one on one. One guy drives, gets caught up, passes it out to the wing, he either shoots or drives, and on and on. I realize we have a bunch of drivers, but they really run no offense that I can tell. Am I wrong on this observation?

at times....i think its tough in todays game to call anything a true offense. meaning there doesn't seem to be defined motions/movements. for instance the flex offense you have assigned spots and places you're going to depending where the ball is at on the floor.
now a days its all motion offenses which is a lot more loose with its roles and allows the freedom for players to go 1 on 1.
i think the problem with that is the standing around, which is what we are doing a lot of

Fox sports ohio is not a fox national channel. And at least the video is better than what I get on WHIO games, where everything is blurry (before the drinks!)

Whatever was said between the Butler game and tonights game didn't work. This is the worst I've see ANY UD mens team look in at least 30 years....I hope they get it together in the second half; LaSalle's half court offense looks awful.....this is a winable game if they don't give up 15 more turnovers in the 2nd half....

Josh Benson
played a decent first half except for his two travels and inability to box out or defend. Given his subpar talent level he was decent in the first half. He showed better than KD.

Can't see it, can only hear it on WHIO, and only heard the first 5 minutes & the last 2. Heard about all the TOs, and heard Bucky say that AM benched KD for the last 5 mins of the 1st half b/c of TOs. Next question - when does he put Vonderhaar in?
And before you write-off that suggestion - giving a walk-on serious minutes has been working for Butler...

And the problem with a motion offense is the offensive players have to "read" how defensive player is playing him and react accordingly. The offensive player has to have some basketball smarts in knowing how to react. We are not reacting accordingly, IMHO, very well. With the overplay of LaSalle, especially Galloway, we should be going back door.

After KD was benched I was watching him and didn't like his body language. I noticed the same thing Saturday vs. Butler. I hope there isn't a problem brewing.

I have also seen that same look from Benson. They look disconnected.

These LaSalle announcers need to teach those VCU clowns how to call a game.
I like the way Price, Pierre and Oliver are playing.

Khari Price just made a superb defensive play on a 2 on 1 and he was the 1. He stripped the ball and then led a break. It was one of the better defensive plays I have seen from the Flyers this year.

YGBSM.
Dillard gives it up, then Durren blows the bunny.
Is this a special needs basketball game?

Around the time of the USC game I posted that from what I had seen so far, I wasn't convinced we'd be in the top 1/2 of the A10 - I was told to be patient and we would get better - still waiting . . .

Based on what I have seen playing in Brooklyn could be a struggle. And that is less based on results than quality of play. LaSalle is gawd awful tonight. Should be a rare easy road game the way LaSalle has played. They are better than this.
But UD has been so careless with the ball it doesn't matter. I just don't see how you win turning it over and not defending.

It's the positive. The frosh have potential. Can Archie develop and coach them?
Sophomore to senior class largely looks like a lost cause excepting Sanford.

I love his offensive game, but he has a long way to go defensively. I've counted three blown defensive assignments in the 2nd half. He needs to get better on that end of the court.
