Ohio Match

Ohio won the MAC tourney, so they are also headed to the NCAAs. They finished 13-3 in the regular season conference and are 25-6 overall. Our current NCAA RPI is 25 -- Ohio is 50. It will be a good match for both teams getting ready for a run in the NCAAs.

I like a match at this pony in the season-----really makes GREAT sense for both of these just about every year.

Only a couple things that could go wrong............stay safe ladies! Hopefully, plenty of v-ball to go!

I agree that this match with Ohio -- which we have most years -- it perfect for both teams. Travel is minimal and both programs are usually very good giving each other the opportunity to work on some areas.

25-10 Flyers in first set. Started out 11-1 and worked it from there. Wow. Did Bobcats lay down? Next set will be different no doubt.

Flyers take first set 25-10. Totally dominated. Ohio took their two time outs at 6-0 and 11-1. I'm not sure I've ever seen a coach burn both timeouts 12 points into the set. You certainly don't see it often.

at 17-17, Flyers go on a 7-0 run to take control and win 2nd set 25-18.

About 15 points into 3rd set and I noticed Janna Kraft has 23 digs already. She is chasing the All-Time career digs leader at UD -- Adrianne Green. To be honest -- it would help her if it take 4 sets to win this one. 23 digs is huge right now and the match isn't over yet.

UD wins 3rd 25-23. Janna ends with 24 digs -- in 3 SETS -- that is HUGE. 4-5 digs per set if big -- averaging 8/set is off the charts.

Impressive victory. Ohio U is always tough. 25-7 record aint no joke for the Bobcats. To sweep them on their home floor -- satisfying! We've really had their number the last few seasons. Now take the mojo into the NCAAs.

Liz Machi made an appearance in this game for serving purposes. I confirmed it with the athletic department because I wanted to make sure it wasn't a mistake for Katie Machi. Not sure how this could affect her eligibility, re: Redshirting...
