You're correct.
I still think less than 1% of the members would get it right.
I'll be back with a tougher one.

Got back on UD Pride after being gone for awhile and just saw this. My favorite story goes like this......"At the Dayton Airport. Guy comes up to me and say.....man you're tall.....how tall are you. Me.......6'8". Man, did you play basketball somewhere? Me......Yeah University of Dayton. Yeah.....what's your name? Me......Steve Hess....played from 1969-1973. Huh.......I don't remember you! Me......I'm sorry and you played at what D1 Power School? Most don't remember me BUT.......it's been 45 years :-) and I'm much prouder of what I've done since UD.

Got one question. How did ref signal a foul on you?

Okay, I remember you on the roster. I didn't remember the #8. I'm guessing that refers to your uniform number and refs used the fingers on both their hands to signify the number of the player who has fouled. How did they do that without it being taken as a 53, 35, or 44?

I think he meant "Name the Flyer"........#8 in the series. My # was 23......long before Jordan and Lebron had it. :-) Probably would have to use two fingers to signify #8.

To be a legal number, a single digit, or first number, must be between 0 and 5. In other words, it can be signaled by the the digits of one hand. Likewise the second number, same rule. So 8 illegal, 28 illegal. 23 is legal.

I, too, was confused. I assumed that number 8 referred to his number and was interested to hear how a player had that number. I guess you had to be in the know to understand the intial post of this thread.

That was my original post. You're right. It was the eighth one in a series of old photos that I was doing the Name the Flyer game with UD Pride members. By the way, Steve Hess is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.

LOL, I just realized the original post was from 2009. Okay, still not sure why there's no photo but 9 years later I'm going to assume it's a glitch in advanced technology, or something.

Jumpin' Joe......You are too kind. Tough to post a picture on this message board or I would send you one when I was on the cover of the program when we played Louisville my junior year.
