I wondered if those stats were correct as well. Indiana State grabbed 38 boards against us.

Louisville only missed like 11 shots and had 5 offensive rebounds.
The ISU defense is very poor. We just missed many open shots.

Louisville couldnt miss a shot tonight. The final score vs ISU may not be worth over-analyzing. Think they made their first 6-7 treys they took.

How is Will Wade even still coaching??? He definitely set a precedent for other coaches to just ignore the NCAA and your school's president and AD and just keep going. Great to see VCU beat him at VCU.
How did College of Charleston get a game with Oklahoma State at home? Watched some of that game to see how our old friend Sam Miller was doing. He incredibly logged 24 minutes but he looks very out of place in a Division 1 game. Not sure what Archie ever saw in him.

It is a game in the Charleston Classic Tournament.
Sorry, this is incorrect. I watched the game and I obviously misheard the announcer.

Totally agree...they caught him with the words straight from the horse's mouth and have him dead to rights, and he does not get punished. It is a total joke.
Whatever happened to all that talk of the NCAA having a new enforcement arm? Crickets.
So, basically now if you are not cheating, you are behind the times, because cheating is now semi-officially condoned, even with crystal clear, black-and-white evidence. There is some faux outrage, but nobody gets punished.

Attendance was listed as 16,419. I'm sure it wasn't that many but does anyone have first hand knowledge of about how many were actually there?
Still can't be as bad as the UConn/St. Joe's game where the announced attendance was 4,061 but watching it on TV sure seemed like even less than that. Sad if you ask me.

Actually it wasn't.
#1 Kansas lost to Long Beach State at Allen Fieldhouse in 1993. Long Beach State was coached by Seth Greenburg.
No. 1-ranked teams have lost to unranked opponents 63 times since The Associated Press began ranking the top 25 teams in the 1948-49 season. Of those 63 games, 32 were played on the No. 1 team’s home court.
I think we'll be seeing more of this in college basketball. Jay Bilas said the other night we could see as many 10-12 teams be #1 this year. No team is a clear cut #1 this year.

No, not there in person. I watched from the comfort of my home. The attendance did look sparse, which mildly surprised me. Does OSU basketball normally get attendance like that?
Saint Joe's at UConn attendance was horrible. That place was virtually empty from the appearance on television.

Yes, I should have looked it up before I posted it. It was the first time that Kentucky lost as the AP #1 at home to an unranked, non-conference opponent. They were 39-0.

There's usually a gap between actual attendance versus reported
OSU attendance isn't great considering the size of Columbus and the student body. Their arena's location is away from the student housing on campus and it can be a hike to get over there
The Blue Jackets I think hurt with casual fan attendance too

Stadium seats 18,800. There were shots of the sections not in the standard camera angle (the ones they make sure are full so it looks good on TV) that were no more than 20% full. Not all of them, but many.

Yes. Except this was a big game, so it was exceptionally full. When they play a woodshed game on a Tuesday it will be a ghost town. It's embarrassing.

A-10 Conference teams are 23-10 (70%) so far this season but 5 of the 10 losses can be attributed to the Bonnies and Davidson! I wouldn't have expected that. Davidson will get better as the season progresses. I just hope they don't get hot when they play us! Glad we have them at home.
One of the best games I ever witnessed in person was a few years ago at Davidson when, Scoochie completely took over the overtime in a big win!

I think some schools have raised ticket prices so much it's become too expensive for some fans. Which has turned fans away. That's where I believe at the moment UD does well. Tickets are still fairly cheap in the 300 and 400 levels. It allows people to come to games with their families at a reasonable cost. This is where UD needs to be careful in raising ticket prices in the future.
I know someone who attends UC games where upper level tickets run between $40-50 per seat. My uncle has upper level season tickets at Rupp and those are $3600 for the year for two seats. If you divide all that by the number of games it's 90.00 per seat per game.
UD is a bargain compared to those places. Let's hope it stays that way.

But, but...if we just raised ticket prices $1 each we could afford a laser show b fore every game! Oops...sorry wrong thread!

That is surprising, for some reason I always thought that UConn was known for having a strong fanbase, but they only drew 8,652 last year.
I guess the Syracuse, Louisville, and Marquette fans or somebody else must have been the ones buying up all the old Big East tournament tix at MSG. Seemed like the old BET drew well.

I remember Sam being fairly well-rated coming out of HS. He might just be like a lot of kids who go away to college and, once on campus, decide to double-major in Social Studies and Fluid Dynamics (translation: they go to lots of parties and drink a lot).

Sam Miller was a big force in the win at Vanderbilt one year. In practice, Big Steve dominated so bad that it was tough to watch.
Scoochie had a incredible game at Davidson, but did almost nothing until the end of game and OT. Then he took over.
Game at Davidson last year was very exciting and probably the Flyer's biggest win of the year.

I never realized that but you are correct, 1.8 miles versus 2 miles.
My daughter lived in Smith Steeb last year and after enjoying a pregame dinner at Sloopys I suggested we get some exercise and just walk to the OSU game. She laughed at me, I said are you paying for parking? So we walked, into the cold stiff wind. I will never make that mistake again. The Stuart walk would be just as bad on a windy night with northwest winds blowing down the Great Miami.

Mich State comes from behind to win @ Seton Hall, 76-73. MSU closed the game on a 10-2 run. Great game, about as good as it gets in mid-November. I was rooting for MSU, we want them in the Top 5 if/when we get a chance to play them in Maui.

I remember the Stuart walk from when I was a frosh in the winter of 1980-81. Those night classes that ended at 9:50 PM in late January were killers when it came to the walk home (considering the last 1/4 mile, at that time, was next to Woodland Cemetery).

Yes, but sledding down that hill on a cafeteria tray made up for all that!

Nearly killed myself doing that in the Fall of 1980. Had a freak October snow storm, so everyone went out on Stuart Hill with trays. Someone built a jump ramp near the bottom of the hill. I got turned around on 1 run, so that I was approaching the hill backwards. The tray stuck in the ramp, and I went flying, head-first, face-up. Guys from my floor (2 North) thought I was dead. No, just shaking the cobwebs out. And the impact caused the ramp to move about a foot further downhill. Good times!

We would pour garbage cans full of water down the hill. We were able make it from the top all the way down to what was called "E lot" at the time.

For Saturday’s Charleston Southern game, I have a prediction. I predict that all of the walk-on’s get a chance to play at the end of the game.

A weekend full of games:
Friday:
WVU @ Pitt
Delaware St @ Georgia
Bama @ Rhody
Monmouth (remember when their bench was a "thing") @ Kansas
UNLV @ UCLA
Saturday:
Morgan St @ GW
CCSU @ UMass
Temple @ LaSalle
St Joes @ Loyola Chicago
UNC Wilmington @ Davidson
Marist @ Fordham
James Madison @ George Mason
Bonna @ Rutgers
San Diego @ Colorado
Sunday:
Jax State @ VCU
Marquette @ Wisky
Seton Hall @ St Louis
Cal St Northridge @ Richmond
Ball St vs Indiana St (In Indianapolis)
Cal Poly @ St Marys
I'm sure I missed an OOC opponent or 5. Not a ton of real interesting games, probably a bit of a lull the next couple of weeks before holiday tournament start up.

I wouldn't be surprised with 10 minutes left in the game we have the end of the bench on the floor. I don't think this one will be close. The 70 and over club might leave at halftime to beat the traffic for this game! 😂😂😂

Rhode Island over Alabama by 19 early in the 2nd half.
May be the third A10 over SEC victory in as many days — VCU over LSU, Richmond over Vanderbilt, and tonight Rhode Island over Alabama.

Rhode Island final score was 93-79 over Alabama. Another nice win for the A-10. Duquesne defeated Lipscomb 58-36. For the season in the non con the A-10 is 26 of 36 for 72%.

Per Kenpom, Duquesne and Lipscomb broke the NCAA record for most combined attempts with 1 or 0 made 3s. Teams combined to go 1-40. Previous record was 1-31.

Kinda makes you wonder where Dayton’s 0-24 three-point performance against Auburn during the Chris Wright years ranks on the all-time worst list. Hard to believe we still managed to win that game.

I watched some of the Xavier home game last night vs. Missouri State, X won by 3. X did not look good IMO, combining last year's underachieving NIT season with last night's game, IMO, it is not unreasonable to begin to speculate that they might have finally missed with the Travis Steele hire. One season is one thing, but when it begins to bleed over into another season, then there might be a problem since this was an in-house hire that was supposed to be a seamless, minimally-disruptive transition.

So you say positive things about Miller (gets in fight with cellmate while drunk) and negative things about Crosby (by all accounts a good guy)??? I notice you didn't comment on the post stating Crosby had 22 points against Georgia.

I only stated a fact re Miller.
Crosby is probably a great fellow, but flat stunk as a Flyer player. I noted his 22. If he had scored 57 he would have won! He has lost all three games this year by big margins. He quit on us and he’s still a very poor player.

That means I was aware of it. Also noted he has yet to win a game at DS and he’s still doing all the craziness that proved him unable to play competitively at our level. Perhaps the worst of a rough class with Miller and Williams also failures here.

I was looking at realtimerpi tonight checking out Omaha's schedule and results - they play St Mary's on 12/1 and the projected score is shown as 90-3.
(They project the UD score as 86-59.)

After a rocky start to the season, the A10 seems to be doing quite well of late. Better than any season in recent memory.

There is a glitch in their system with SMC, almost all of their SMC score predictions are really goofy. I have no idea what is going on there.

Jury is still out on Steele. Three players from this years' freshman class have yet to see the floor. Tandy a point guard from Ky is the most intriguing because of what he showed on the summer trip to Spain. Scruggs and Goodin simply do not have the gear that he does and the ability to allegedly knock down shots from anywhere. Dan Ramsey a 6-8 forward has been battling a knee issue and a concussion. He may play soon in a reserve role. 6-10 freshman Deonte Myles is a shot blocking machine but at 210 pounds gets pushed around too much. His best days are down the road. X has improved its defense from last year. Missouri State was a huge learning game. That's the first team to zone X and won't be the last. The Bears also squeezed the air out of the ball and had some decent strength in the post. X has to stop throwing the ball away and hopefully the shots will fall. Carter is still finding his legs. This team is better than last year....big time.

Based upon the limited sample of what I saw last year vs. this year:
Did not look that way against Missouri State. Still early though. Offense was shaky. Not really seeing player development with some players, seeing more like stagnation or even regression with some players. Defense looked fine. New players that have played are not really contributing anything significant. Remain skeptical of Steele's coaching ability, he did not do a good job coaching last year, that should have been a NCAAT team. Mack was a very good/excellent coach.

Missouri State was picked to win the Valley with 29 of 43 first place votes. We scratched by the preseason #6 team.

in their next 6 games:
includes at Miami, Fla Nov 21
at LSU, Nov 29
and at VCU, Dec 15
we will have a better idea of Missouri State
after these games...

Why is Michigan St. listed as an OOC and not a Potential Opponent? We are not guaranteed to play them are we?

That is true! The Georgia game in the first game in Maui is a must win! In years past when we were included in the rankings in the top twenty-five we would lose whatever the next game was and drop out immediately! This season we have the opportunity with a win over Georgia and a good showing, or better yet, a win over Michigan St. to break into the top 25. LETS GO FLYERS!

Edwards doesn’t need to score tonight. UGA’s big forward (Hammonds) is taking care of GA Tech pretty much by himself

Hammonds picked up 4th foul with ten minutes left and then Edwards starts going off. Looks likeUGA is going to be a handful on Monday.

With UMass and St. Louis both winning tonight the A-10, for the season, is now 40 wins and 14 losses for a percentage of 74% in the non-con.
