and root for a Nebraska upset of the Bruins, that'd give us a quality loss.

Think Archie gave the team a bit of a motivational talk. Doesn't look like last night's start.

Love that I can see the "5" on the blue uniforms. Too bad I can't see "DAYTON" or the players numbers.

Although X just had a turnover on a good pass from Mikesell, there is much better ball movement tonight. Ball movement and energy on defense complement one another.

Only thing worse than these announcers is DD's defense. He got beat to the basket three of four trips down by Portland, and was then benched.
Do the announcers realize their is a game going on?

The Flyers look like a completely different team out there. They are doing an excellent job of rotating on defense. Everyone is moving their feet and sealing off the lanes...including Sam Miller!! X is looking more confident out there and Scoochie is being Scoochie. He had to feel bad about his performance last night.

You gotta love them improvement over the last couple of games. Some of it is the level of competition, but our progression as a team is also apparent.

It's obvious that Archie put a fire under their butts. He was obviously embarrassed by the lack of energy in the last two games.

Not a good ending to the first half. Charles Cooke needs to get his head out of his arse when it comes to FT shooting.
17 point lead is now down to 7

Flyers wake up and play with energy on both sides of the court. This team plays so much better when they can push the ball down the court. Flyers back up to +9.

Kyle atones, he's so much better when attacking the hoop.
He should avoid outside shots. He's the worst on the team there. Unless than its a last second have to take he shouldn't.

At the under-4:00 timeout, Portland is 18-18 on FTs. Dayton is 4-9 on FTs.

Had it going on -without CC and then we went south. Gotta get it going again. Can't count on winning this from outside.

UD wins 84-74. A bit of redemption.

Good win. Played much better than yesterday. Let's get another one tomorrow.

Lots of assists, that's a good thing. A "W", that's a good thing. A work in progress, that's a SURE thing

Beating Portland by 10 when they go 20-20 from the line is a good win. I thought all the sophomores played pretty well.

I like Wiliams coming off the bench. Puts another scorer out there when the substitutions start.

We did play better. But Portland is no Nebraska. Without #2 they would be back in Oregon.
That said, we needed this type of win to build on.
Xeyrius Williams turned into SERiOUS Williams 24 hours. New Mexico will be a huge test and will really tell us if we are getting better.

DD has what we golfers call "the yips". When presented with a wide open shot, his nerves shorten his follow through. Can't be fooled by the occasional shot going in. In his case the yips are not likely to go away.
He will be good for spot duty, and is capable of snagging some rebounds and steals. We don't need his scoring. The team shot well so far this weekend. 46% 43% 71%.
