Where to eat and drink reasonably in DC

So MrsFF and I will be making the trek to DC for the conference tournament as we have almost every year since Va Tech was in the A10 and the tournament was in the drafty Spectrum. Most years, there is a lot of good basketball to watch. This year, I'll likely be rooting for the Officials to not be terrible and not have endless replays which waste everyone's time when they end up getting the call wrong anyway.

That being said, it looks like there is going to be an extended amount of time available for eating and drinking. I'm looking for suggestions to do it reasonably.

We have been to DC on several occasions, but this will be the longest stay. Very familiar with the Metro, so getting around the city isn't an issue. We have visited Georgetown, but haven't strayed far off of M St.

Yes, we will visit some of the historic sights, but we also like to experience the local culture.

Old Ebbitt Gril

Ebbitt is a pretty famous place and DC institution. That's a must if you do DC

The arena is near Chinatown and any random place I've walked into there has always has good and interesting food. Good area to walk around in general.

Are you looking to travel around or stay near your hotel?

We are staying just north of the arena - near 1 metro stop on the green line.

I have no idea your feeling on Chinese food but I'd recommend a dim sum in Chinatown

Yeah, we ate at a Chinese place in Chinatown right by the arena, it was good, it seemed that almost all of the staff did not speak English very well.

We also visited the nearby National Crime and Punishment Museum, which was interesting.

We also visited the International Spy Museum, which was also interesting.

Exactly the place I was going to mention. Also, have a drink at the bar of the Willard Hotel. 7 or 8 presidents have drank there.

Am I the only one missing Atlantic City has the venue? Everything was an easy walk, and the boardwalk was fun to walk. I like Brooklyn also.

I'll be at the early round DC games this year.
