Wichita State had no problem with Donnie Jones, they just hired him to their staff.

I think Gregg Marshall just does whatever he wants in Wichita which is basically why he hasn't left. The only guy he has to answer to is billionaire Charles Koch who cuts the checks around there.

@DavidPJablonski
Dayton is officially announcing Anthony Grant's staff today. The coaches are Darren Hertz, Anthony Solomon, Ricardo Greer and James Kane.

James Kane has been a Murray State assistant coach
On the Murray State website:
"Before Murray State, Kane was Alabama’s video coordinator from 2009-11 and served in the same role for two seasons at VCU, all under Head Coach Anthony Grant."

Here is UD's Link.
So, an Associates head coach, 2 assistant coaches, and an assistant to the head coach. There is room for 1 more assistant coach. I've seen schools have an associate and 3 assistant coaches.

His language of saying this is his "full staff" would obviously mean no Kuwik. Don't get me wrong - we will be fine without him - but I was hoping he would be on the staff. Seems like a good coach and a great person. He worked his butt off the last few weeks to help keep this program moving forward. Hope he gets a good gig somewhere.

Actually that is wrong... The Associate Head Coach counts as one of the 3 assistant coaches... So the 3 AC to go on the road are Solomon, Kane & Greer, that's it

[QUOTE=m21eagle45;504431]I love Chapman, but I do not want him anywhere near the basketball program as a coach. There are still major off the court issues with Chapman that I will not go into detail about.
M21eagle45: Per your post, i apologize. Clearly i missed something along the way. I'll honor your statement that you won't tell me. I'll start looking on the internet for what i clearly missed in my education.

Glad we are moving forward! Can't wait for the player news next.
Thought for the day: we are just over 3 years removed from an elite 8 and apparently there is no one left in the program that was there, and I believe only one person (DD) who has been involved in a Dayton NCAA tournament win. I find that absolutely astounding.

Actually Solomon and Kane were on the Dayton staff prior with BG and one more to be named is a Dayton Native but not an associate coach.
Grant = Dayton player
Kane = Dayton Video Coordinator
Solomon = Dayton assistant coach
One more in support role possibly but a Dayton Native.
One that my camp thought would get an assistant job and returning to UD was Billy Schmmidt. Oh well, that tidbit from the table didn't fall right.

I have mentioned him before but I believe the Dayton native who could be added to the staff is Andy Farrell, who was on BG's staff.

No thank you. He was the architect of the hockey line switches, which I believe kept BG from building a better program here. I hated that with a passion.

In my database, I can only find 2 schools that have more than 3; Army and Navy. Not sure why they are different than all other schools. I thought I had seen others, but not sure what I saw since I can't find them. Thanks for keeping me on my toes.

Pic of Ricardo Greer with Chol Marial, who is now class of '19. Thon Maker's cousin. He is 7-2 and is the #3 ranked recruit in the country for his class.

This tweet highlighted in that thread from Murray State commit, Temetrius "JA" Morant is notable:
https://twitter.com/igotgame_12/stat...0%26start%3D20
It's hard to not lust over any PG at this point as a Dayton fan, though Temetrius seems very firm in his commitment to Murray State. So I'm not suggesting anything like that, but cool that he is saying that Kane is the best recruiter.
But worth noting that Kane pulled Morant out of South Carolina which is a hotbed of talent right now. In particular, the Columbia area where both Morant and Jordan Davis are from. Though they played on different AAU squads and are from opposite ends of the metro, they should know each other reasonably well from various all star games and whatnot. Most lists that I've seen rank Jordan Davis one spot ahead of Morant as far as South Carolina prospects go...
Prep Hoops SC has Davis #4, and Morant #5. https://www.prephoops.com/south-caro...2017-rankings/
Hoop Seen has Davis ranked #3 and Morant #4 http://www.hoopseen.com/rankings/sta...-carolina/2017
So if nothing else, I just think this goes to show that Kane has been recruiting at a pretty high level, and some of what he has in the pipeline could definitely see its way to Dayton at some point.

I read that thread yesterday and was impressed, this post in particular :
"...On another note, have you ever seen so many posts on social media congratulating an assistant that left us? Player after player along with fans...I hope he is the first call that is made when our head job next comes open..."

In re the hockey line substitutions, I'm 100% in your camp, Tommy. They were usually counterproductive, and they disrupted our flow more often than they aided our performance. Please, please: no mas!

A quick view of the recruits on verbalcommits for Murray State shows a fair amount of 3 and 4 star recruits for 2017 forward being offered. Obviously, we don't know who the primary recruiter is/was. Of some note, the list includes a couple 3 star PGs for 2017.

The series of tweets Kuwik made about naming the baby is absolutely classic/hilarious. It would take forever to cut and paste everything but here is his twitter page. https://twitter.com/KevinKuwik People should really read it because it basically compares the process of naming the baby to how high school kids handle recruiting.

UD is still looking for a Director of Player Development:
https://hoopdirt.com/job/director-pl...ton-full-time/
If you are interested, here's the direct link to apply:
https://jobs.udayton.edu/postings/22987
You will notice that college basketball playing experience and 5+ years pro playing experience are listed as "minimum requirements", so that may eliminate some of us.
