Single Season Blocks Record
This may be premature, but with Kostas putting up 7 blocks in the first 3 games (Game vs Ohio not over as I write this), That puts Kostas 48 blocks behind Big Steve's record.
To break the record, Kostas would have to average 1.7 per game the rest of the year (not including any A10 Tourney/Postseason games)
Anyone here betting against him?
And just for a minute - close your eyes and imagine the two of them on the court together. Brings a smile to my face.

McElvene had 7 blocks in his first 3 games too. SE Missouri St, Alabama and William & Mary. Of course, he played more in the first 11 games due to Pierre's suspension.

Yeah, but I think Kostas range to block shots is much wider and he will crush the record. Love his blocks, reminds me of Lebron's block to win the championship.

Seems his blocks are different. Not blasted out of bounds so much as redirected into our hands. Also alters or just won't allow shots to be taken. He needs more minutes. We have far more ability to win games defensively than offensively in my opinion.

Seems weird to talk about Steve... but
I think Kostas has a bigger wingspan and is a little taller while Steve seemed to be bigger if that makes sense?

Steve was more upright, Kostas seems to have arms growing out of his arms.

Kostas is far more athletic. He can chase down blocks where Steve was more of a "stationary" blocker. If he stays healthy Kostas will crush the blocks record.

I said the same thing last night, "Could you imagine if Big Steve and Kostas were on the court together?" Had the reverse effect on me though - kind of made me sad.

Thinking of Steve, period, brings a smile to my face. I still think of he and Chris fondly. Such great guys
I hope Kostas gets the record. Man he's exciting

I agree...it felt weird typing it. My opinion, the best thing we can do to remember Steve is to continue talking about him. We need to make sure that years from now new Flyer Faithful know about Steve and who he was.
I often fear that someday we will stop talking about him and we will forget about an amazing young man.

And I believe Steve still says NO when anyone puts up a shot with Kostas in the vicinity.

Kostas is up to 14 on the season. That puts him 41 being Big Steve with 22 games left (not including post-season). He would need about 1.8 per game.
If he can stay out of foul trouble and stay on the court - it is very much in reach. I would think having him play by the basket in the zone will help him.
