Not much of a gambling man myself, but doesn't that just mean that the bookies have to give UMass 3 points in order to even out the bets? Bookies want a push, they only make money on the vigorish. Can't believe we're giving this much, even with us on our home court, guess it means the betting public has more faith in our Flyers than the Faithful do... Hooray for the betting public!

That is correct. The line is initially established to get even betting. When one side gets bet heavy that's when you see the line change. The purpose is to get even bets on both sides.
