If we could shoot 70% instead of 45% on shots inside of 5 feet, we would be up 15. I appears that Arch has said no outside shots, thus Sanford and Siebert are MIA.

The Flyers are absolutely clueless on defending the three-ball. They better learn soon or it will be a long, long season with an abrupt ending in early March.

Can't defend the 3 when we allow penetration and we don't rotate.

St. Francis has much better spacing than Dayton. Their path to the basket on dribble drives is much easier and harder for UD to defend

Our offense is worse than our defense. Price never penetrates. St F knows he is going to pass laterally every time. We our totally identical each time down the floor.

I think most of the problems we've seen in this young season stem from the same thing: we just don't play hard. From sprinting on rotations to making hard cuts, we just don't. I think that is the most disappointing thing.

Funny, I was thinking the same thing. I think Archie is experimenting too much with all of these substitutions. Find 6 or 7 regulars and give them 30 plus minutes. None of the players are into the flow of the game.

Wow.
Even as bad as we played last game, I didn't think we'd be in a dog fight with St Francis PA mid-way thru the second half.
We look absolutely putrid on both ends of the floor right now.
Just freaking wow.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but at this point I think the BG years were preferable to this. This is ugly....tons of turnovers, missed lay ups. Archie doesn't seem like he knows what he is doing. Very concerning

I am thinking clueless. What did he change at halftime. Two of our best offensive guys do not get a shot, Sanford and Seifert.

I think UD needs to try and schedule some buy games to start the season next year, it's tough having to fight it out each night with these tough teams.

The real question is how ugly is it going to get when we play a real team like GT and Gonzaga?

Archie just figured out after 38 minutes that our height is not an advantage, so play 3 guards.

I think the only thing that has been worse than UD's play tonight has been WHIO's broadcast and the horrid commentary from Hartstock and Dukes

Really if Dukes says one more time, "this team plays best when they can get the rebound and fast break down the floor." What team doesn't?

I only watched the second half because of work...and during that time alone I lost count of how many times Hartsock mixed up DS DP and DO.

Hartsock was great comedy. He was wrong about pretty much everything. Whether it was which Flyer scored the basket, which camera in the arena is working or not working or which Red Flash player either fouled out or didn't foul out of the game, he was pretty much consistently wrong throughout the game. I couldn't do anything but laugh with that great play-by-play and the garbage being displayed on the floor. It's hard to get riled up about the poor play when you have Hartsock behind the mic bringing pure comedy gold.

I tweeted at halftime. No ball movement, dumb TOs. Missed at least 10 point blank layups. The bigs were AWOL all night. Thought the Flyers should have went small, Oliver at the 5.
Matt and Vee have not played well. Matt is a poor back to the basket player and when they throw it in there bad things are likely to happen.
Time to give Sibert and Scott the next start. Sibert is still prone to poor decisions but he hasn't played a lot in 4 years.
The defense was better. I'm all for getting Kyle Davis more minutes as well. Jalen, Alex and Kendall did not play in the 2nd half. That could become a trend.

Best stat line of the night... Kyle Davis on pace for 30 points and 15 steals if he had played 30 minutes.
DO played 37 minutes and put up a good stat line.

And we got it - at least maybe a small miracle. Sibert hit the three when the game was tied at 54. From the corner - ball bounced straight up and down through. If he misses that shot, they have the ball in a tied game.

SF really packed it in. The FLyers tried to force it in and the bigs didn't post up strong. Add in 10+ missed layups and it was ugly.
Need to swing the ball and attack from the weak side and shooters need to be more prepared when they catch it. Pepper in some dumb TOs and it is a struggle at the moment. Vee and Matt have not played well for being seniors.

And he has played some of the worst defensive imaginable. Run a guy baseline through screens and have him run a curl cut opposite elbow and Vee will be trailing by two steps. Guy is back at the rim by the Vee gets back inside the three point line. He us a better athlete than that.
Davis and Price defend. Every one else who gets enough time to judge, not so much.
Defense was much less of an issue than REALLY BAD offense. No player movement, no ball movement, bad passes, short armed inside shots. No post game.
Not sure what's up with Robinson.

Your momma gave you some great advice.
However, she never listened to Hartsock get worse every year. On one possession alone he said three times "Dayton with the steal", yet by the time he got done spitting it out each time Dayton still did not have possession.

It us pretty hard to say who was worse - Sanford or 35. I dont see how either one should start. Maybe even drop out if the rotation altogether. At least 35 didn't reenter after fumbling the ball our if bounds again.
Would like to see more of Davis, but fear he would provide no offense.
Defense was better except for V and the bigs providing unnecessary help leaving guys open. Although when the defense breaks down, it's a major breakdown with a guy wide open after one easy pass.

From what I saw tonight, DS, JS, & DMO deserve heavy shares of minutes until someone else can prove that they deserve more. MK had T-Rex arms and seemed to lack instincts. I loved JR's game last year, but he seems out-of-sorts so far this year. DP seems to be forcing things a bit. VS seems to not know his role so far. KP was great Saturday & a little off tonight, but SS has been playing like he's still in AAU ball, and KD needs some time to adjust to the college game, so KP's our best bet at the point so far. As a whole, they're still a long ways away from where they need to be to have a good season. But hey - it's still early!

Robinson is 12. Number35 is someone who was suspended for a year. Since I don't cheer or boo that player am taking someone else's cue and referring to that player by number.
Childish perhaps, but so be it.
