I’m looking forward to seeing her play this fall. I don’t know what happened at Northwestern, but sometimes it’s just not the right fit.
However, she had a great prep career. She was an AAU All-American in 2015 - impressive. But more impressive is she played on consecutive 18 Open Championship club teams. This is very hard to do. First, clubs set up teams based on age. So she would have been 17 for the first Championship and “played-up” on the 18 team. Most teams don’t do that, but the ones that do play-up Elite younger players only bring one or two up. It’s a big sign that a player is really good, especially if it’s on an Open team. Then the second year, she would have basically had all new teammates on the second championship team because the ones she played with the first year were all off to college.
It’s hard to win any club championship, and very rare to win the top division (Open) twice with the oldest team (18s).
Not only looking forward to seeing her play, but would like to know how she ended up at UD.
