BEVERLY HILLS (MI) -- The University of Dayton Flyers got hosed in a major way by the NCAA Selection Committee, chaired by Scott Barnes, DO -- of that there can be no dispute. However, fans around the country are shaking their heads wondering how the Flyers get to host a "home game." It's not the walk in the park that outsiders might envision. How bad did UD get shafted in this deal, let us count the ways:
-- Dayton
will not play on their own floor -- it will be an NCAA Tournament deck, not the usual UD Arena surface
-- Dayton
will not be the home team. Because they were somehow determined to be the last team in and thus the lower seed, Boise State will actually be the home team, dress in UD's locker room and wear home whites
-- Dayton
will not play in front of their home crowd. Season ticket holders had the ability to buy First Four seats, but that doesn't mean that they did. The student section allotted to UD as well as the area for the band will not be the typical arrangement for a home tilt
-- Dayton
has to face a very good Boise State team that is equally ****ed at being sent to the "First Four." As Chris mentioned on the UD Pride MB, the Flyers may have gone 16-0 at home this season, but Boise State is the best team not named UD to lace 'em up at the Arena this year
-- If Dayton wins, they will have to face a rested Providence Friar squad
less than 48 hours after they square off vs. Boise State. In case you forgot, Dayton only plays seven deep and none of them are over 6'6"
Despite all of the above, UD Arena is still a tremendous place to showcase an NCAA Tournament game, as
USA Today documents in this great piece on the Flyers' home court:

So what can the
Flyer Faithful do about all of the above?
In the words of The Eagles...
get over it:
All this whinin' and cryin' and b*tchin' a fit
Get over it
Get over it
You don't wanna play then you might as well quit
Get over it
Get over it
