Please Refresh My Memory
Details and names are disappearing from my brain much too quick these days. I met someone today from Evansville and was trying to relate the Wes Coffee out-of-bounds situation to him but couldn't remember the culprit. Who was it (and please don't tell me it wasn't Evansville-related)? Thanks.

I was at that game and saw the incident. It was ugly. The article makes it sound like Mack did it in response to his coach, Jim Crews. But Mack was a complete jerk on the court in every game he played. He always had this "holier than thou" attitude about everything and he quickly became one of the least favorite players to ever play in the arena.

I was at the game also, but what most people don't know or recall, is that it happened twice in that game.

It did, and I think it happened to Wes Coffee both times. I think the other guy who did it was Scott Shreffler. Am I remembering this right? Yes, it was ordered by Jim Crews, but yes, Chris Mack was a jerk even back then.

It really would be a forgotten footnote by now but for the recurring roles the villains have played through the decades. Jim Crews becoming the head coach at “rival” SLU. Chris Mack marrying Christi Hester and becoming the head coach at Xavier. You really couldn’t script that stuff any better except maybe if Wes Coffee had gone on to a coaching career at Dayton.

Correct, on all counts.
Especially the last part about Mack being a d-bag for nearly 30 years now.
