Iowa (NIT 1st Round) Game Thread

The season ain't over yet ladies and gentlemen... The guys can still have a very good ending to this "surprising and overacheiving" season. This is the 1st step to getting to MSG and play for the NIT Title.

I'm just a little bummed that we aren't playing at home when we are a 2 seed (which is a surprising seed IMO). Oh well... It happens.

Let's play hard in Iowa City.

One more thing... Let's Go CJ! Everyone knows that wasn't you on Friday, shake it off and play well tomorrow.

This goes back to them doing what is easy....winning in a comfortable environment.

Mental toughness, they don't have it...have said it time and time again...starts with the seniors and rolls down hill. Need to get their heads out of their butts or it is going to be a long night.

Why don't we try a strategy where we just casually stroll back up the court on defense after making a basket and see how that works out for us? Archie is going to have a stroke yelling at these guys at halftime. If he could, he would bench the entire team. Absolutely sorry defensive effort tonight. It is almost comical. Yes, we struggled on D (ok sucked), but a 3 point game at the half, on the road, in front of 13K hostile fans playing a Big 10 team who knocked off 4 top 25 teams this season, heck yes I will take it.

Make the right half time adjustments AM, and lets kick some butt in the second half. Oh yea, and hustle back on D too.

Two things...get out of the defensive funk, and be able to weather the fact that we most likely won't be as hot from behind the arc. That's what kept us in it. We are going to have to find another way to win the game than hope for hot shooting. May be wrong, but I don't see it in that environment and after Iowa makes adjustments at the half.

It all depends on whether or not all the Seniors want their season to end tonight, or if they want to play in front of the Faithful 1 more time. If they just want the season over with, then this game's as good as over. If they want to keep playing, they'll suck it up & fight like their college career's on the line. I've seen some good effort from some guys, but not enough good effort from all guys.

And I'm listening to Larry & Bucky on WHIO while watching ESPN. When Iowa got that blocked shot against Alex, Larry yelled that it should have been a gaoltendng call, and he was so loud, I'm sure Stripes heard him!
