VCU Game Thread

Big, big game at the Seigel Center on Tuesday Night. Mike Rhoades' Rams are really, really struggling right now and banged up, having lost 3 of 4. Will be interesting to see if Evans is ready to go, even if he is he should be no where near 100%.

Game is on Tuesday Night at 8:30 and will be shown on the CBS Sports Network.

G 0 De’Riante Jenkins 6’5” 190 SR Eutawville, SC
F 23 Issac Vann 6’6” 200 RS SR Bridgeport, CT

F 14 Marcus Santos-Silva 6’7” 250 JR Taunton, MA

Santos-Silva leads the way at 12.7 PPG 8.8 RPG. Jenkins does everything... Bones Hyland has had a fabulous freshman year.

Recently (well most of the year) VCU has trouble scoring the basketball. Evans playing or not is going to be big as well.

As we all know, take care of the ball against them and be strong on the glass.

Dayton had 20 turnovers that led to 31 of VCU's 65pts last game. Yes, you read that right... almost HALF of their points came off of Dayton turnovers.

Got good minutes with Obi, Trey and Ryan out. Added to the lead. Feel like we are settling in on both ends of the floor a little more.

We always play better in the second half if we keep fouls low in first half.

Obi plays from the waist up, doesn't leverage his strength... always a vertical posture, doesn't bend at the waist, particularly on defense.

Strange half. VCU down one of their best players and shot the three poorly. We took care of the ball pretty well. Not much from Obi. I’ll take a 7 point lead at half.

Sidenote: does the Our home is a Powerhouse commercial make anyone else cringe? I'm usually a big fan of our advertising but this campaign is the worst I've seen from us in a long time. Looks 10 years old

We need to limit offensive rebounds- gave up 9. That’s too many extra shots. And play Ibi more. He’s can score. The other guards not named Clutcher can’t seem to.
