That Kyle Davis game winner reminded me so much of that one time Mark Jones hit a game winner.

It's hard not to give it to Charles, but Kyle hit the money ball.

I tell you who it's not: John Crosby. Although by the time he's a sophomore, he should be a wizard at handling pressure zone defenses.

The game was beyond painful. UD nearly dropped another one at home by 2 points or less.

Something is not clicking with this team that was clicking earlier (no Pierre then either)

Scouting reports are beginning to take effect. We have an identity and good coaches/teams can put better schemes in place.

Not shooting the ball well and teams are sagging off all over willing to concede any open and deny the drive. Earlier teams extended defense. Till shots go down and they extend the defense offense will be a struggle.

And Scoochie looks fatigued

We have four true freshmen - all of whom I would be scared to put in a pressure game. Sam Miller looked lost the few minutes he played and X and Mikesell had very limited time in this game. All four remain true works in progress at this time.

You hit the nail on the head. Scoochie looks tired to me. And frankly, the Flyers haven't had a lot of games since the tournament.

Originally, I was going to vote Cooke based on his second half performance. But then I realized that #33 for Miami Ohio was basically shut down in the 2nd half by Kyle Davis. Then he hit the winning shot. (We shouldn't have needed a KDavis winning shot, but that's for another thread...)

I took Kyle for his defensive contribution on #33. (#33 5/7 FG, 2/3 3FG 12 pts in 1st half, 1-4FG, 1-2 3FG 3 pts in 2nd half.)

Pierre could change the dynamic. Especially if teams go zone.

Cooke also covered Washington.

After watching the replay of that final shot by Kyle again, Cooke had pretty good position for a putback had he missed. Kyle still is player of the game of course.

My thoughts exactly. Cooke was not hitting shots in the first half, but he was hitting the boards hard and helping to keep us in the game with 7 first half rebounds. That's what a good player does. Shots will come and go, but getting rebounds is more desire and hard work and in my opinion there is very little excuse for not rebounding well. Then he got hot in the 2nd and especially those two 3's in a row -- heaven knows we needed every one of them.

But in the end it was Kyle's defense and shot at the end that won the game that got my vote.

You have to wonder if Archie was double guessing himself about not suiting up DP at the end when Miami came back. If we had lost.....Yikes!

I am going with Steve. If his blocks don't give Miami the yips inside, blowing multiple open point blank stick backs, then KD down snot even get a chance to hit a game winning shot.

Following that logic, I'm going with Pierre. IF he talks Archie into putting him in the game, Steve would sit out some and not have a chance to block the shots.
