Pre Season Bracketology
The Washington Post had a pre-season NCAA bracket posted in the sports section today. For whatever it is worth the Flyers got an 8 (against San Diego State) in the dreaded 8-9 seed game in the East (in Raleigh with, of course, UNC the 1 in that region). Other A-10 teams were URI and VCU both with 10 seeds.
Other teams of interest and their seed: Wichita St. 3, Iowa 10, Vanderbilt 5, Notre Dame 6, Purdue 4, X 11, Oklahoma 3, Providence 12 vs. Boise St. 12 in the play-in round,

Just had the thought that an 8 or 9 seed would not be so bad these days. After you ask yourself if an Archie-coached team could knock off a one-seed in their 2nd game it doesn't seem so far-fetched. I wouldn't mind an 8/9.

Unless you play a P5 schedule, you are always in danger of the Selection Committee deciding your strength of schedule is too weak.....and gleefully assigning you to the three letter tournament. Remember last year we were the absolute LAST team "in" even though we had a heck of a season and most bracketologists had us pegged anywhere from 9-11 as a seed.
So, no, I don't have a problem with an 8 seed at all. I doubt UD can get any better that an 8 seed unless they really just about run the table in the regular season.

CBS sports had three votes for UD to be league champions, two votes for URI and one vote for Davidson. Palm was the Davidson vote.

George Mason suspends a player that was 2nd on the team in scoring last year. He was suspended because of academics, he is suspended for the first 6 games.
