EC Matthews
@JonRothstein: URI's E.C. Matthews (knee) will miss the remainder of the 2015-16 season, per release. Brutal news for the Rams. And the Atlantic 10.
Tough news and I pray for his full recovery.

EC played at Romulus HS for Nate Oats which is where Devin Searcy went to school and was recruited by UD.

Horrible way to start the season for URI.

Wow. Tough break for Rhody. This stuff happens no matter how unfortunate. We needed URI to be good this year.

Matthews was almost unstoppable last year, and I hear he was a pretty sure bet to be POY in the A-10 this time around.
Rhody is still formidable, but they've lost a guy who could get them points virtually at will. And at the end of close games a guy like that is money in the bank.

Read a nice piece on Nate oats, his rise up the ranks, and his wife's battle wife cancer this afternoon. Guy has a ton on his plate at the moment, I'm rooting for him and buffalo.

For sure. URI will be a trap game for anybody who thinks this misfortune will end the Ram's season.

The door is wide open for Pierre to be the POY in the A10.

He is my favorite play in the A10, outside of UD. Sad news, but he works hard and will be back.

Sorry to hear that. Best wishes for a full recovery in the 2016-17 season (as long as he has his best games against teams not named UD).

I get that Pierre is great and all, but I would bet that Bembry from St. Joe's is the current front-runner for POY. So, I don't think that the door is "wide open" for Pierre.

I agree. I was just being cute. I thing Bembry is better than Mathews, but that is why they play the games.

Bembry may in fact be the most skilled player in the league, but I've watched Saint Joe's games last year and I've seen Bembry attack the basket and hit the deck...and him have to pick himself up because not one Hawks player came to give him a hand. It happened at the arena in their game last year too. That says something to me.
