Maybe he's on a recruiting trip.! The other day I had on one of those syndicated shows about prep hoops stars and they started talking about Simeon and Jabari Parker so I looked up and there was Kendall playing in the state championship. Evan Gilyard was the player they were featuring I think. He scored 24 last night in a win over Morgan Park. 60-57

Not sure how updated this site is, but it looks like Gilyard has offers from
"Dayton, UIC, Green Bay and Chicago State. DePaul, Kansas, Texas, Loyola, Bradley, Georgetown" and now maybe Toledo.

Gilyard reminds me of the small point guard GW had. Great offensive talents. His challenge in college will be can he play defense at his size?

You are thinking of Shawnta Rogers. I remember because he was always a thorn in our side. If GW got a lead at the end of a game you might as well hang it up. The ball would always be in his hands and he was automatic from the free throw line.
Gilyard is listed at 5'10" and Rogers was only 5'7" so I am sure Archie would love to have him.
A couple of years ago I had the same feeling about wanting Scoochie to handle the ball 100% of the time at the end of a game with a slight lead, especially in the Elite 8 run, but lately the free throw percentage hasn't been that good!
I hope that Scoochie follows the pattern of his past two seasons and keeps improving as the season comes into the homestretch.

FYI we may need a short point guard to defend Shawnta Rogers son.
All 5'3" of Shawnta's son Darnell has committed to GW.

Carries the ball at 11 seconds. Probably not called.

I would like to think that if the game were called when I played how it's called now...well, I still would have been cut in high school but maybe I would have had a better crossover!

All thats left now for KP to do is sell popcorn and drive the shuttle bus from Lot O. How awesome if "Pocket Barkley" pulls us another recruit from Chi-Town?

Players don't go out and recruit like a coach -- especially during the season while school is in session. I'm guessing KP had some sort of family issue to attend to. He might have caught a game while in Chicago but it's not like Archie is sending him out on the road to bring in next year's class.

Yeah, you can't actually send a player on a recruiting trip. There's no way that could ever be permissable.

Kendall Pollard went home to Chicago for a funeral (I'm not sure who died yet). He's back today. Warming up as we speak.

He attended the funeral of an 18-year-old cousin. Death was ruled a suicide.
