ENERGY ENERGY ENERGY!!! UD needs to come with it and not settle for the crowd to provide this.. Most schools come into the arena and it's like their SB...UD simply has to outmatch their opponent in energy...Rebound and get the 50/50 balls and they will win..

Pollard's ability to play effectively is key. Not sure how we deal with Cox if Pollard not in there.

As a red-blooded All-American male, I didn't notice a '3rd one' in the picture until you pointed it out.

The fact that you have instant access to the photo history of "College Cheerleaders on Parade" is uncanny, and dare I say slightly concerning...
Where is the Queen? Is she aware of your treasure trove of exuberant strumpets?

I was thinking the same thing as I was watching the VCU-Davidson game last night. My biggest concern is the fact that we are so **** soft in the middle with Pollard not 100% and SM a gargantuan foul machine.
DP does an admirable job, but he can't possibly be the physical presence we're gonna need to keep VCU from going "T.J. Cline" on us, without getting into foul trouble himself.
I wish we could rely on Big Steve but you never know what you're gonna get from him, other than quick and mostly stupid fouls. Love the kid but he is raw.

Cox is not the same offensive threat as Cline, especially from the outside, however he is twice the defensive player and rebounder that Cline is. It will take a different effort, like boxing out and better screens and passes.

What to do?
Major dilemma: my daughter's high school basketball banquet is Saturday night, during the UD/VCU game.
So should I do the right thing--feign an illness to stay home and watch the game on TV? Or go to the banquet and stream the game on my phone? I mean, she's only a freshman so I may have three more opportunities to go to her banquets. I'm relying on your collective past experience--what would you do?

Can't answer unless I know about your wife's degree of understanding of the situation. Would not going to the banquet also require going without relations for an extended time period?

I would take your daughter to the game with you. If she's just a freshman she'll have 3 more years worth of banquets to attend. It would be a nice touch to call her coach and let him/her know that you won't be attending and why. Any basketball coach will surely understand, and btw who in the world schedules a banquet on Saturday night?

Seriously? Go to the banquet and stream the game. That's what modern technology is for -- keeping dad's pout of trouble -- lol. I realize you love your Flyers -- but you love your daughter more and this is when you show it.

I do not miss Dayton playing, but I do for my kids (I have five). Dayton is forever, your kids events are one time. Send her the right message, that she is most important.

So you'll have 3 more opportunities to attend a function important to her.
Have you heard of once bitten, twice shy? Record the game (if possible) and sequester yourself from scores until you return home.

Definitely your daughter's banquet. She will see that you support her more than the Flyers...and that is indeed the correct priority.

I can only speak for myself, but if it was my own banquet, I'd fink out and accompany my old man to the Arena.

How is it the UD never comes ready to play the first 4 mins? Do they really enjoy always stating down 9-0?

Wonder what our home/road split is on 3-pt% this year. Seems we shoot them better on the road. I remember when UD teams were always lights out from deep at home. Now it just seems visiting teams come in and shoot lights out.

VCU is getting the fouls to pile up on him. Baby D misses the front end of a 1 and 1. I don't know if I have ever seen anyone's game deteriorate like his has.

9 TOs. Best way to kill momentum and negate the crowd.
THIS HAS GOT TO STOP

Those turnovers took us right out of our momentum...same thing as Rhode Island. You can't keep momentum when you are turning over the ball.

Flyers down two at the half...got to get that momentum back. I think Ryan needs more playing time.

Two things need to be fixed for us to win:
1. 10 TOs are absolute killers. We need to value the ball much much better.
2. Freshmen not named SM did not play well at all. We need to keep starters out of foul troubles and on the floor.
If we do these two things we will win running away

Pierre has got to bring it this half. He gave us very little. Missed two layups, a bad three and no blockout on several rebounds.

Whichever team can make shots in the second half wins. Only us if we stop turning the ball over.

The Flyers choked away a share of the regular season title on the last day of the regular season last year. Gotta take the bull by the horns early in half #2 to claim their piece this year and get that #1 seed. Let's go!!

Do we only drink when Gillen says "New York"? Or does "The Bronx" count too?

Keep Tillman off the boards. He doesn't box out; he just makes his move after the ball hits the rim.

The Flyers are very fortunate that this game is still tied. Our defense has been good, but offensively we are just not able to get the ball movement that is the Flyers' hallmark.
