Not at all. Testing the water to get feedback on where he needs to improve. Obi did the same thing. You can only do it once, so it is safe to assume that Toumani is gone after next season, which will be his 4th year in college.

Wikipedia says that this changed in 2016 and now you can declare and come back twice.

I actually like it. This is a nice heads up that we will have his roster spot open next season in all probability. It cuts back on the awkwardness of looking to replace him when things are up in the air, and the disadvantage of waiting until March to find out his actual decision.
Now I understand that he could still return next year, but it makes it clearer that his preference is not to because he wants to be NBA by then.

Yep. He's not going anywhere, imo. He improved very nicely the last half of the season but even getting drafted late in round 2 is nothing to feel secure about. Another year of doing what he did this past season with an improved mid range game facing the bucket and he's a much better player both for the NBA and overseas.

Testing the waters helps the players develop. Another opinion. Obi tested the waters after his redshirt freshman year. The NBA people gave him lots of feedback and things to work on.

I read somewhere that 247 college players and like 40 foreign players have declared for the draft. 60 spots available.
Anymore I view this sorta like summer basketball camp, but for college kids to attend.

Source: Toumani Camara is withdrawing from the 2022 NBA Draft and will return to Dayton next season. Averaged 10.9 PPG and 6.9 RPG last year.
