The net-cutting scissors on the ladder
Larry and Bucky kept referring to the ladder with scissors taped to it during the game. I figured there is no way SLU could be that stupid.
They were!

Yep!
You are correct. Larry said the players noticed the ladder behind one of the baskets during shoot around, and that it had a pair of scissors taped to it. Giving SLU the benefit of the doubt, maybe they simply made Chaifetz personnel aware of the desire to have it and, unlike at UD where those things are kept off the court and in the tunnel until needed, they must do it differently.
HOWEVER, we're talking Jim Crews here...and I've had a difficult time giving him the benefit of anything. Archie should've removed the scissors prior to the post game handshake and said, "here, don't forget to take these back to Mrs Crews."

Larry's tweet
Larry tweeted that picture yesterday afternoon during the shoot around.
My response was that there was a week's worth of dust on them. Surely they had them in position since the Duquesne game last week.

This all looks real good in the paper, but in the real scheme of things, if a pair of sissors motivates us more than the potential of a ticket to the dance, then we are in big trouble.
It was really no big deal!

Whatever it takes, man. If it takes a pair of scissors in an odd location played up for motivation, then freaking pretend like those scissors are the ultimate symbol in disrespect. "It's only weird if it doesn't work".

I would hope getting to the NCAA tournament was the biggest motivating factor.

Having worked with and trying to motivate our younger generation for the last decade plus, I am amazed at what it sometimes takes to get that extra little burst of energy out of them. It is rarely one form of motivation, but the sum of multiple forms that push them over the top.

I don't know if they used them or not but, they did clinch the regular season championship last night. They went backdoor when Joes lost.

All that matters is how our guys reacted to it and Kyle tweeted that they decided there wasn't gonna be no net cutting ceremony.....and there wasn't!!
I wouldn't put it past Crews to put them there on purpose.....he's a cocky sob.

SLU's body language from the get go screamed potential upset. You could tell early in the game the guys were feeding off of it. I had a good feeling about this game. Not going to say I predicted a W but I knew it would be very close. Glad to see we toughed it out in the end!!!
