Interesting take at end of this article: http://skygrid.me/1cWqcCy
>>> Chris Wright, a 6-foot-8-inch forward out of Dayton, leads the Red Claws with an average of 24 points and 7.5 rebounds in the team's first five games. Wright is shooting 56 percent from the floor. He went undrafted in 2011 and was waived on Oct. 26 as the Raptors trimmed their roster down to 15. The high-flying swingman can fill it up -- he almost made the Raptors the year before, too -- but Toronto cut him again while he continues to work on his perimeter game.<<<

Hard to get much better than what he is doing. Hope he is earning a decent living while he drives toward a goal. Bet when he retires from BB he becomes a great employee for some company looking for people with determination and skills. It is easy to cheer for a great kids like Chris.

On Jan. 6th NBA teams can start offering 10-day contracts...
Chris is at 23.1 pts and 8.2 rbs/game...how could he not get an offer??

Looks like Wright was hacked on a drive to the hoop and broke his nose. Didn't come back into the game after that and couldn 't even take his free throws

If I could have a wish: Chris will get his NBA chance, play then return to Dayton and make a difference to so many kids.

Wright went for 18 pts and 6 rbs in a 142-145 loss in the NBDL All-Star game today...7 others scored more than Chris.

CW's vertical movement and explosiveness was even more improved in the All Star Game. Had a real nice challenge at the rim on defense as well.
I don't recall him shooting anything other than a freethrow from outside of 3 feet...but I was kind of fast forwarding through the game.
What CW lacks, and he always has, is his lateral movement. IMO, that is what is keeping him from doing big things outside of the D League.
I know this isn't the case...but for any of you who have hit up the court for a game after not playing for a long time...you have those uncoordinated sea legs when trying to do anything. Like the legs aren't doing what the brain wants them to do when you are telling them to....this is what I feel like when watching CW. It is like things aren't fluid on defense and off the ball on offense. He is in great shape, but the analogy fits for any of you who have experienced it. Everything is herky jerky in his movement.
CW must still like his NBA chances...but I still don't see why he isn't overseas collecting a much better paycheck for a few years. Glad I don't have to make that decision. D League salary cap for a team is like 170k.

Maybe he banked some coin from his Golden State gig that is still supporting his D - League salary. Still, if he does not get called up this year one has to wonder if Europe is not a better option.

Holy crap, that two handed block and stayed in bounce and threw the outlet pass was as good a play as Chris has ever made. Incredible!

If he doesn't get brought up this year he should seriously consider playing abroad. He'll make good money and have an opportunity after his season.

One more reason why Danny Ainge needs to call the Red Claws-- today!
Gerald Wallace is done for the year:
http://www.hoopsrumors.com/2014/02/g...ce-likely.html
Let's see:
6'7"
220 lbs
Who do we have in our system that we can call up to fill in for Wallace? Hmmmm.

Watching the game (my 1st D League game). After CW stormed in for a rebound slam, announcer said something like: "Is it any surprise it was Chris Wright? He's relentless on the boards. He's the hardest worker and best dunker on this team, maybe in the league."

The 2 announcers don't know why he hasn't been called up . . .
(18th on the D League list)
But pleasing the fans there for sure
